According to users, the HH oils are NOT the same when it comes to actual performance. Idemitsu and Tide Water stuff is better than BPCL.

Motul 10W30 is better than Castrol... but don't get carried away by the name! This one is desi stuff... not imported from France like the 300V, etc. Drain period is also low. Gulf is said to be better by all those who have tried both.

Am trying to get the workshop manual for the CBZ myself. Best thing is they said they don't have one in the workshop to give me! Have been promised it will come soon...

what speed would you say would be ideal for cbzx while on the highway?

Well, It depends on the rider usually..his comfort and style of riding.Cbz extreme/Hunk ideal speed of cruising on higway would be somewhere between 80-90 i guess. These bikes vibrate pretty well between 65-75kmph (5th gear , 5000-6000rpm) but once you cross, the vibrations cease.

            • "pretty well" makes the vibes sound more like a positive trait .. hehe ... thank you for the info, i guess keeping it above 75k/h on higways wouldnt be a problem.. so, methinks in the 150cc segment xtreme/hunk would be an able tourer [not counting gs]..
ps: i think whtever vibes are there in the xtreme wouldnt be as much as in p150..?

My best friend has a CBZ-X&I feel it vibrates at about 5K RPM, vibrations are felt near the crotch. Maybe the engine mounting bolts need tightening.

"Pretty well" actually meant some appreciable vibration. It's not that a person would get a body massage It is present in all bikes at some or other rpm. some tell its due to resonance ..and its only in that rpm range. Once you cross ,the vibrations disappear.

Yes you can do a lot of touring on it but the higher cc bike karizma 223 is more suited because the engine will not feel as stressed as the 150's. Please dont include R 15. U know about it.

p150 seems to have vibes in higher rpm range . In my opinion extreme/hunk is smoother and has less vibes at high rpm/high speed.

yeah..very true... but i guess a city rider who manages to run away from his job for touring only once every 5months wouldnt be able to do justice to zma.. neither would the mileage do justice to my meagre pay ..
i feel the xtreme handles much better than the p150.. the ergonomics are better in the x ..only thing i feel is the rear brake lever's size is too small..

[do you think we can attach a heel shifter too along with the toe gear shifter? would save the formal shoes..]

Well, I cruise between 80 - 100 kmph on highways. But then my trips are seldom over 100 km and almost never in the afternoon sun. Can't say how it will perform on much longer trips and in the afternoon sun, esp. in summer. So if your use is going to be similar, then no issues...

As mentioned above, some vibes between 65 - 75 kmph are there, but otherwise its quite smooth. And it is smoother with Gulf, when compared to Idemistsu HH oil. With a fully synthetic, I guess it will be even smoother.

                      • Talking about vibes and resonance, I should say my achiever with round headlight (no fairing) has no vibes compared to Xtreme/Hunk which has vibration at around 70 kmph, my achiever goes smoothly right from 0 to 100(speedo) w/o any vibes (compared to Xtreme/Hunk)....only time I get vibes is in the morning when the idle speed gets moody and fluctuates b/w 1000-1600 rpm for a minute or so.

                        • Hi Friends. My CBZ Xtreme(June 2009 model) gives me some metalic like sound near front wheel, like any metal strip is touching some moving part. I got it checked form local shop and he said it is due to Disc Break pedals are loose but on second servicing, I reporte this issue to HH workshop guy and he denied the issue. But I can still hear that noise while driving. Pls comment...

                          • Cleaned engine with Cyclo Motor Flush and filled with Motul 300v 5W40. Nice Nice!!!

But I say...They is no huge difference in smoothness with Stock Oil and 300V at lower RPMS.

Dose it pose a problem when you give the bike for a free service as you are using a different oil?
