Looks like the idling RPM was set when the engine was cold. Just tune down the RPM to the manual recommended idling RPM after a ride of say 5-6 kms. (By that time your bike would be showing 2.5K RPM as you say). You can do it yourself, or take it to a mechanic with engine on.Originally posted by noel046 View PostIt usually starts from 1.5k but after a ride before i switch off engine i notice it at 2k or 2.5k... If the engine is given sufficient time to cool then it will start from 1.5k itself...
Don't mind... but can you explain me what sort of tuning should i do for my engine if i need to go for long drives... Just to protect it from high temperature damages or something similar to it...Quench my thirst with gasoline!

dunno! probably i ride the hunk as it was supposed to...like a street racer!Originally posted by fayad555 View Posthow did u manage to get 53kmpl..? even my uni gives only 46-48
...
seriously, i suppose because I accelarate gradually most of the time, and try to maintain constant speeds as far as possible (even if it means riding at 80...)Riding the BULL....(with out the LET)...

Very early morning it won't show any difference( It starts from 1.3 or 1.4k rpm as normal)... but when i go out at say 10am or so under sun for 8-10km then i notice that needle points at 2.5k when i put it to neutral before switching the engine off...Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostLooks like the idling RPM was set when the engine was cold. And once engine is cooled for some 15 to 20 mins it starts back from some 1.8rpm(as the pointer stands some where between 1.5 and 2k) i'm worried coz i don drive above 4500rpm nor i burst open the throttle hard...

Too lean mixture or improper valve clearances can cause the rpm to "hang".Originally posted by noel046 View PostVery early morning it won't show any difference( It starts from 1.3 or 1.4k rpm as normal)... but when i go out at say 10am or so under sun for 8-10km then i notice that needle points at 2.5k when i put it to neutral before switching the engine off...

What do you mean by "can cause RPM to hang"...Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostToo lean mixture or improper valve clearances can cause the rpm to "hang".
BTW i thought engine was using rich mixture so the RPM used to go high...
Could U just tell me how a lean and rich mix effect engine performance of engine...n which mix heats up the engine soon...

Hey guys,
Just checked the HH Hunk website. They have removed the picture of LED tail lights. Maybe it was an error from their side. They got a bit carried away I guess.
So all recent Hunk buyers, CHILL!!!!
One more error is that in the 'Price' section the exhaust is placed on the left than on the right. Looks like the page was designed in a hasty manner.Last edited by srinath34; 12-08-2009, 01:55 AM.The rider doesn't pick the bike, the bike picks the rider

The rpm hangs at a certain rpm while coming down from 5k or so rpm while blipping the throttle. It does not come down to idle.Originally posted by noel046 View PostWhat do you mean by "can cause RPM to hang"...

In case of a lean mixture, as the throttle closes, the lean mixture gets momentarily enhanced due to scarcity of air (throttle is getting closed) but fuel flows for a while. This keeps rpm inflated for a while. But it is not permanent.
Cause of lean mixture - improper tuning, manifold rubber cracks.
In cases of improper valve clearances too, it can occur. It is more permanent in nature. (Hence may be this is your prob)Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Wokay...went there yesterday. The banged up bike has goneOriginally posted by omkarm89 View Postthx a ton mate...i really aprreciate it...
Had gone to Pratham for my second service. Asked for the part. The lady will tell me the price when I go today.
The service was good, but my taillight is loose...creates a noise whenever i go over a bump!! The supervisor better fix it tomorrow or else!!!Riding the BULL....(with out the LET)...

Yest took my bike to HH Service station n asked supervisor about the problem.. He said as engine heats up in the day more so it will show you such high rpm after riding... By the way will such high rpm effect my mileage...
And will low idling rpm mean engine is taking lean mixture or high mixture...

Thank you mate...Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View Post^^ So is your rpm hang temporary (last for max 30 sec after bringing throttle to idle) or is it more permanent in nature?
If it is temporary, it is due to lean mixture and will affect the engine due to overheating.
Can U clear this doubt m asking just for GK sake... what will happen if you set for rich mixture... will the idling be at low rpm or high rpm...

Just the opposite. The rpm will "dip" to a lower than idle value for some time before returning (increasing) back to normal idle rpm. If the "dip" is too much, the engine will stall.Originally posted by noel046 View PostThank you mate...

What's the max speed that you guys have done on your extreme ??
today i crossed 120 kmph on the airport road (shamshabad airport-near hyderabad) .. it struggled to reach 120 from 110 .. but the thing was i couldn't feel any vibrations .. bike was steady ..no wobbling whatsoever.
Only change in the bike is the synthetic oil . Petronas Sprinta 10w40
i guess it could've gone till 125 had i pressed hard.guys..if you ever need blood or want to donate blood, please refer to this site :

Do you ever notice that when you're driving, anyone going slower than you is an idiot and everyone driving faster than you is a maniac ?
