Did 3rd service yesterday at 5.5k..
shifted back to 10W30 from motul 20W40.. the difference is obvious.
20W40
- sluggish pick up
- poor mileage
- lower vibes, runs cooler
10W30
- crisp and sharp throttle respns
- better mileage (hopefully)
- increased/normal vibes
am loving the stock oil..
one more thing..
valve tappets have gone little bit loose and is making a slight noise. (only i can feel it, that too wen going down hill). Told the SVC guy to see to it, but he didnt. Is it a serious problem that I gotta worry about..? I mean, shud I get it corrected..?qMOTORCYCLING IS AS MUCH ART AS IT IS SCIENCE

No matter morning or noon, cold or hot, that oil made my bike feel sluggish. I noticed it when I rode my friends Hunk just as old as mine and I was like WTF..!!
After the service, its much better, but not fully back to its old glory.
Is it the tappet that causes problem..?MOTORCYCLING IS AS MUCH ART AS IT IS SCIENCE

Changing oil to 20W40 alone will not reduce your bikes mileage and power.

I prefer svc for tappet adjustment and carb tuning.whereas for air filter cleaning chain cleaning and engine oil change i prefer local mech.as i want these things done in my presence.Originally posted by sooraj_vs View PostWill do it soon.

Hi Guys,
The worst nightmare of every midsegment biker has hit me...
385 on Odo & my bike returns a mileage of 27.76 kmpl
. guys i calculated it twice full tank to full tank. The last observation: trip meter 111km, litrs of petrol that went in 4 litrs. I dont know how to react but my friend's CBR250 gives him 28-29kmpl
. my details mentioned below:
Tyre prsr: 29 front 31 rear (50% pillion 50% only rider)
Gear shifts: changing gears at 3.5 rpm
max speed 40km/hr on 5th or 4th gear.
1st gear: 0-15
2nd gear: 15-22
3rd gear: 22-32
I shift to the 4th gear at around 34km/hr and cruising at 40 on 5th.
Do let me know am i doing some drastic mistakes while driving? or my bike has some issues?
at the bottom of my mind i have a slight doubt that the petrol pump guy might have made a fool out of me coz both the time i filled in petrol from the same guy and heard that he is into adultration of fuel...going to try a different petrol pump but then thats a remote possibility of fixing this issue
