Previously I had replaced the drive chain at 27k odometer reading, The gladi has one piece drive chain no lock is there to shorten the chain. Should I replace with orginal purchased from showroom costing 1330 as done before or cut the chain reduce some links install a chain lock or replace with new drive chain sprocket set purchased from local spares shop?Thanking in advanceNehal Nachan
Buy an original and replace the chain. Never go the chain cutting road except in emergencies, not a long term solution.

hi earlier i have said a problem in Yamaha ss125 (2008) model. problem is my bike stalls at rain. I have checked recommendations like checking spark plug/cap/wire for water and air filter side - replaced with new one did not find any wet signs.

I thought my problem exists in rain.. but when ride my bike through a half feet depth water it stalls like no fuel/main-reserve... after 5 or 10 mins it is starting again & running normal...

I remember when i ask mechanic to check alternator for low head light power, he removed alternator cover, replaced gasket. After this only i am facing the stalling problem. Whether water entering through miss aligned gasket (may be) and spilling on alternator? also i would like to know what happens when water spills on alternator?

Guys, I own a gladiator 2013 model type SS which was working fine. But a few days back some issues raised and I'm unable to fix it. Whenever I slow down the bike and pull the clutch lever, the engine gets shut down immediately. Checked with idle speed settings and carb tuning but still the problem persists. Can someone shed light on the same? Thanks in advance.

Seems the clutch cable needs replacement. Also, check out the spark plug.

You seem to have done the basic troubleshooting already. May be the battery is low on charge and the electrical system of the bike is not working properly as a result. Also, the carburetor and the air-filter might need a cleaning/replacement. I think it'd be best to take your bike to an authorized Yamaha Service Center.

Guys, I have some doubts regarding the performance upgrades for gladiator. I own a gladiator 2013 model type SS and was looking for performance upgrades for it. After some research in internet, decided to buy an iridium spark plug ( NGK CR7HIX ) and a splitfire 8.8mm ignition cable. Purchased the spark plug for Rs.575 from NGK authorized dealer and splitfire cable for Rs.350 from the local market. When I tried to install the new cable, I found that Gladi's stock ignition cable is permanently attached to the ignition coil. So I just installed the iridium plug with the stock ignition cable itself. The result was amazing as the acceleration increased and it was possible to reach above 80 km/h with less effort than earlier. Also the bike performed much better on any inclined roads. But the problem was vibration which a typical gladiator is free from. It lost the biggest plus point it had. Again researched about iridium plugs and found that splitfire twincore 8.8mm or any other racing cable must be used with iridium plugs, otherwise the result will be vibration.
                    My doubts:
                    1. Can I replace the stock ignition coil with a new one that supports spiltfire cable?
                    2. Will it affect the battery If I changed the stock ignition coil?
                    3. What is the specs of stock ignition coil for gladiator?

Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Yes , you can replace the stock ignition coil with a new aftermarket one.
I am not very sure about the specification of the Gladiator's stock ignition coil.

Changing coil will not affect battery.

And I somehow feel that if you are gaining performance , it means the compression in the engine has increased , which might result in higher vibrations.

yes My airfilter was changed on 17k km and carburetor was cleaned at that time in an authorized service center .after cleaning my carburetor I found my millage decrease from 55 kmpl to 45-46 kmpl on city traffic condition.thereafter several time at service they tweak my engine for maximum performance with millage but millage didnot touch to 50kmpl either .
