Changed to a 100/90 rear tire long back. Could easily fit one. No real difference in power or mileage.

The engine and gears are silky smooth, Delivers a good mileage of 60-65 at 50 km/h. Type SS has great looks comparing to the older gladis. Brakes are good. Its real fun around fast corners.
I was doing 80kmph easily with by brother as pillion, we both weight around 160 kg together......... It was so smooth like butter.........

Yeah tyres made for tarmac will skid inevitably in muddy conditions. But i would still recommend getting them. As i would believe that at least 90% of your riding would be on tarmac.

I would say i made the mistake of getting buttoned tires. I needed a quick fix as my old tire got a puncture and ended up with a pretty big hole in it.

I have the dunlop monster and it is a bit uncomfortable on road. It is also very heavy. Best is to go and check out what is available in 18" and then select a tire based on your need and budget.

Hey bro I have a question. The max load in the manual is mentioned as 150 kg. Will it adversely affect the bikes handling if we overload the bike? or is there any other negative effect of overloading?

Overloading your bike affects the mileage a lot when you rev it hard but in normal riding the difference will be very less

and you should be very careful in traffic because you cant flick your bike like you do in other conditions........

the top speed may decrease about 10-15 kmph

The positives are the bike becomes very smooth and vibe free
              The brakes response very well.........

Thats really a great thing about this bike. Tried the stunner with similar speed.. bt vibrated a lot... donno whether that particular stunner was faulty or all stunners are..

Yamaha has no vibration. However you will feel some vibration if you underRPM the engine like low speed high gear, that's the only way to stress a yamaha engine.

Stunner is meant for looks where as it vibrates starting from 55-58kmph...very bad bike regarding honda.

Anybody here tried setting tappets? or valve clearance?

Here in my area there are some gladiators ( Now SS ) having yet to open Engine block or head or gasket after 70000kms of riding of 6 years. Is it same in all?

thats correctly said.. sumon. Yamaha engines are vibe-free engines.. way ahead of other 125cc engines..
Bt recently I am noticing some ' dhug dhug' sort of sound when kept idle. the sound goes when the clutch is pressed.
Showed this to a local mechanic. He said he can solve it... Lets c if he really can. Though I really dont have ne idea abt wht went wrong.

For sound, when?? in the morning when you first start it? or everytime you idle or neutral it comes?
If it is in morning it is due to cold and struggle to idling, for that try keeping choke on for 20s. But if it happens all the time you surely need to see a mechanic may be it is time to clean your carburetor.

I had done many long trips, with pillion cruising at 80 kmph for hours, without any issue...(Gladiator type JA)
Change the sprocket to Yamaha RX 100/135 sprocket(cldnt exactly remember, which 1 I used) and feel even more comfortable on long rides, and top speed above 105kmph,though pickup would b a little compromised....

Use the oil with the grading xxW40. Try gulf pride 4t or motul 3000. You can also try agip racing 4t FS oil.

Its happening all the time. sumon.... The mechanic said that some screws in the engine might have got loosen up.. or may b something has gone wrong with the clutch plates.. He wont bet untill and unless he takes a closer look at the bike.

Can you tell me how much the service centre guys wud charge me (at max.) if they ask me to change the clutch plates//???
