N what modifications are you looking for?? In the sense just air filters and so on or free flow exhausts, mods to the head etc??

Did the mechanic clean the spark plug in your previous service?

2.Yes it's fine for cold starts.Do remember to turn it off though.
Thanks for your reply. When asked about cleaning the spark plug, they said it is a part of the service..

      • No place to store document copies

        Hello guys.

Got my missing toolkit and first aid kit from Yamaha. However, I am facing a new dilemma. The general trend I had heard is we store copies of RC book and insurance in the left compartment and carry original of PUC (and our DL) with us when we ride. But there is no space in the compartment at all.

How do you guys carry your documents? Right now I carry them in the bag I take to office, but I am thinking if I have to take just the bike out for a spin ...

Get a Green Card made by the Traffic authorities. You will need the original and a copy of the RC,Driving License,Insurance and Pollution Certificate. Take 2-3 photographs too.(though only 1 is required here in UP). The process 'usually' takes one day. You will get the card the day after. It's valid for one year. You just need to carry the DL with the Green Card.

I carry all my documents in my bag. I'm planning to get photocopies of all the documents and keep them in the left compartment. And i personally don't have a problem with opening and closing the left compartment. It was a hassle earlier, but it's ok now.

I got my bike serviced on the 7th of this month and it was my first paid service. Cost me 740 rupees, good old efficient service of Bangalore Wheels. I noticed that they stock K&N filters and sell them as well, so any prospective buyers can get their Gladi's fitted with K&N at BW. I'm going to get it done... Once i've saved up enough cash!
Right now, 11 Bhp at 7500 Rpm.

              • @Sharkbite, @nightwing and @Yamaha_Gladiator,

I am currently carrying the document copies in my office bag. DL and PUC in my wallet.

I am going to get my insurance certificate and a RC smart card after 45 working days (which makes it sometime in February). For now, Yamaha has given me receipts of registration and a covering note issued by my insurance firm.

I will look into the green card facility here in Mumbai.

It should run good for long time is what i heard(say some where around 18K), are you facing any problems with the chain/sprocket?

AFAIK its not just the km you have ridden, if the chain/sprocket have been lubed & maintained properly it would serve you for more kms.
As long as the chain/sprocket is fine & not giving you any trouble there is no need to change it.

I was advised by the service center mechanic mine should be replaced as early as 12K km (there was some weird sound coming from the front sprocket), but on advice from few members here i cleaned the entire chain/sprocket the sound disappeared im still running on the same ones even today...

                            • An unidentified sound form rear sid eof my bike

                              hi folks ,

for last 10 days i have been irritated as whenever i drive my bike nad it come across to offroad surface or small pit , a peculiar soundf rom rear side attracts my attention.the sound is somewhat like,"chan-chan-chan" ( like ghungroos(dont know english word for it ) mounted by classical dancers during their dance in thier feet)

please let me know from where this sound may arise, so that i can

smoothly drive and concentrate on biking.

                              • @Prashanth: They had recommended to change the air filter, but it didn't look that dirty (it a paper type) so didn't change it..It a good practice to clean it once in a while, it pretty easy to clean a paper type, just blow compressed air on to it.

@sudhanshu_gore: Check if the rear plastic piece (the one above the tail light) is loose, its common problem with gladiators. Also check the stand mounts, there is rubber stopper, if it lost then it will make sound.
