  • my 2008 yamaha gladiator rs

This is my first attempt of posting a new thread so if any mistakes my SENIORS please help me correct it .

It was in january of 08 that this bike (yamaha gladiator rs) came to my attention before i was only interested in one bike of yamaha ie the RD350.. after i rode the yamaha glad i felt that this was what i wanted.. i had done some background verification on the bike and took ma frnds sugestion regarding the bike but no one including my girlfriend liked the bike but i was focussed on ma aim... just 3 months down the line ie 29th of may was my bikes birthday.... it was something that i brought from my hard earned money... my first possesion.. since then im in love with my bike, ive gifted her many things including K&N air filter recently.. im planning to gift her NGK iridium spark plug this year... please suggest me if it would improve my bikes performance.....

Congrats. Trust me,you haven't made a mistake in choosing the Gladiator.
The Iridium Spark Plugs you are looking for are :NGK Iridium IX CR7HIX.
Dont expect a boost in performance. I have been using them for the past 8k kms. Except for the fact that the life span of these spark plugs is twice that of the standard ones, the only major advantage I can list is easier cold starts. And a minor improvement in mileage.

              • oday i had went 2 the lotus yamaha showroom for the 3rd service (at 2500kms) of my gladiator & i had purchased a shell advance S4 engine oil for use in ma gladdy. In the showroom when i gave the shell advance engine oil to use it in ma gladdy then the manager told me that the engine warranty would be void if I use any engine oil other than yamalube. I thought that the showroom was new so the manager would not be knowing anything & made a call to the service engineer of that area & to my surprise he also gave me same reply of the manager & i was forced to use yamalube in the bike.

has anyone faced any similar prob to mine

does every company do the same or only the yamaha does so??

Which Yamalube was it? Semi-synth? If it was semi synth, then it's fine.Better than Shell Advance,in my opinion. It wont do any harm.
About 8 months earlier,a Yamaha parts dealer told me that the Yamalube's has been upgraded and has better quality of oil now. It certainly looked better in the new packing. He recommended me one and I found that the oil felt familiar. I somehow believe that it's a Motul.Someone more knowledgeable can confirm the same I suppose.
Motul is great for the Gladiator. Make sure you get the right grade though. I have given a minor explanation in one of my previous posts.

                  • hi pals ,

i have found the solution for front no plate mounting below the headlight soon update u with the pics...

also i would like to know that anyone feels the difference in power performance of the bike during day & night time riding ??>

during day time i suppose the power of the bike is very less & it suks ....it cries for the poor power delivery.......

in night bike riding bike smoothly give you the power range to use .... without any vibrations as it is not in day time ...

please share your experiecne ... and let me know is this only my illusion or reality ... ?? /if there is any problem with my bike

                    then please suggest something.............

dude i am not talking abt the engine oil here i am talking abt how they had forced me to use only yamalube. It is not fare that the customer should use only their products & cant hav a choice in b/w. They hav threatened me to end my warranty if i use shell engine oil. this is not at all fair & i am not at all satisfied with the service & yamalube.

i hav used yamalube basic engine oil at Rs.220
Shell is far better than yamalube. I dont know abt the semi synth & synth

i too face the same problem but i think its illusion only bcoz at night there is no heat so u feel more energetic & so u also will feel ur bike energetic but at the day time there is heat due to sunlight & u would feel less energetic & u think ur bike is less energetic.

if u dont believe me then try to ride ur bike when the climate is little cloudy & cold breeze is blowing arnd .

Well writing on an online forum about what's fair and what's not, wont do jacksh!t. If you want to get things done, try taking an aggressive stand in the service centre and not here. You have bought their bike and you have the right to be served with dignity.
Dont try and be a nice guy in the SC because then they will take you for a ride that you wont ever forget.
Been there, experienced that. I know how good their 'service' is and how 'dedicated' they are when you are not around during the servicing.

dude i hav also threatened them to do a case on them in the consumer forum but they hav gave me a very surprising reply that i can do whatever i can.....

i am sure that the shell is far better bcoz:-
                              1. Shell is awarded with no.1 engine oil company in world.
                              2. A lot of my friends told me that it is very good.
                              3. I have heard a lot abt shell but came to know abt only after purchasing the bike
                              4. Nobody has suggested me to use yamalube except the SV guys & u

anyway dude by saying "how good & dedicated their service is" do u mean that the service is gud or bad???

I am posting abt this on the online forums bcoz:-
                              1. i expected that anybody will give me the procedure to complaint against them or atleast anyone would suggest me wat 2 do
                              2. so that no other person will face problems like mine & will b aware of it
