I didn't have snaps taken of the headlight, but was able to find pictures from a post on xbhp, here they are, the firsta one is a H4(similar to what I have changed to) and the second one is HS1(the OE light type). The light is normal colour (yellow). I wanted it that way as it would be the best one for all weather. White light is soft on eyes, but produces as lot of glare and is not suitable in fog and in rains.Last edited by arunrajmail; 02-16-2010, 12:06 PM.

The one I changed to is a 60/55 w Philips premium +30. The Gladi has HS1 bulb with a PX43t base, the one I have installed is a H4 with a p43t base. A bulb with P43t base will fit in the PX43t holder fine, but will not fit in the other way around (that is you cannot use bulb with px43t base on a p43t holder, this because the middle pin of px43t bulb is thicker than on a p43t bulb). Here H4 and HS1 are the bulb type (the construction of the filament and parts are different)

upjetting
thanks man .... but do u hav any idea which size jet do i change it to ???Originally posted by prashanth lobo View Post^^^ Yes you do need to upjet... if u do not upjet, your bike will run lean... which in the long term would lead to shorter engine life...
i just fitted the K&n filter (rs 1800) on ma yamaha gladi RS .. the problem is after 85km/hr the bike tends to jerk as if the petrol is gettin over !!!
is this due to not upjettin the carbuertor ???

It's because the competition to the Gladiator are either cheaper or easier to ride in the city or look better or are more practical and economical.Originally posted by tann View Posthello everyone im planing to buy a bike.. i have gladi on my mind nd im confused with it as i dont see many gladies on roads.. can ull tell whts the reason behind it?????? why dont many prefer buying this bike.. is it coz of milage or some other issiues????????
The Gladiator tries to be all of the above but never fully takes on any of the roles well.
If you want a comfortable bike that can attack corners as well as it can sooth your mind then the Gladiator is for you.sigpic

It could be also due to the fact that Yamaha is not pushing Gladiator as aggressively as FZ or its other products, or as Bajaj is doing for Discover. I got the vibe that Yamaha doesn't care whether the Gladiator and its smaller siblings sink or swim in the market.
Also, Gladiator seems to be a bike that everyone would like their friend to buy, but won't buy one for themselves :-D2016 Suzuki Access 125 (Matte Grey)

@Madhav Krishna: I'm too having the same problem, mine seems to be coming up higher up the rpm range, that is above 5k . Does sound like a loose tappet or improper cam chain tension, will have to check that with a good service engineer at the servicing station. I had serviced the bike myself but things like these does need special tools and expert opinion.Originally posted by madhav krishna View Postfriends I am facing a very weird problem from my gladdy. whenever I am riding my bike at arnd 3k-4k there is a strange sound coming from the engine.
