Disc brake pad change, input required
Guys any idea on how much change the disc pad for Gladiator, its kbx .And as far as I know kbx is the supplier for most of the Indian bike , so are the brake pads from other bikes compatible with Gladiator's, the reason being that Yamaha would certainly charge a premium on it and if a similar one is available with other manufacturer at a lower price I can go for it.
thanks in advance

Hey, i'd like to know how does the exhaust note of the bike sound now and at what RPM does it kick in. And have you checked the mileage after fitting the filter? If yes, how much is it?Originally posted by adam27023 View Postthanks man .... but do u hav any idea which size jet do i change it to ???
i just fitted the K&n filter (rs 1800) on ma yamaha gladi RS .. the problem is after 85km/hr the bike tends to jerk as if the petrol is gettin over !!!
is this due to not upjettin the carbuertor ???

The Pulsar has identical disc pads. You can go for that as it's cheaper. By the way,how many kms has your bike clocked? I am on 19k kms and the last time I checked the pads, they were as good as new. The CBZ mechanic was astounded and asked me if I ever applied the front brakes at all.Originally posted by arunrajmail View PostGuys any idea on how much change the disc pad for Gladiator, its kbx .And as far as I know kbx is the supplier for most of the Indian bike , so are the brake pads from other bikes compatible with Gladiator's, the reason being that Yamaha would certainly charge a premium on it and if a similar one is available with other manufacturer at a lower price I can go for it.

Thanks Nightwing, will check that out, have a bajaj servicing station close by.My bike has clocked almost 25k and the last 7k was in Bangalore city traffic. City takes a toll on you clutch and brakes. Also for the rear brake shoes you can change it with rx100/rx135 around Rs 150 compared to Rs 350 for gladi's, at least these are the figures given to me by the guys at Castrol Bike Zone .Originally posted by nightwing View PostThe Pulsar has identical disc pads. I wouldn't suggest you to mount it under the headlight because it may hit the mudguard, the front fairing on the RS & SS versions are lower than the earlier versions.Originally posted by sudhanshu_gore View Posthi pals ...

If you are riding constantly at 80 and 90 take a break for each 50 kms. And if you are cruising at 60 to 70 take a break for each 70 to 80kms.Originally posted by sudhanshu_gore View Posthi folks ....

We can feel the engine performance, if it is overheated sound increases in Glady and you will feel an increase in RPM, dont ride for long time if you can feel it, take a break immediately.
My friend travelled to Hyderabd from bangalore in 8 hours. He took break at each 80 kms and he maintained a speed of 80kmph regularly.
Not sure about other queries.Last edited by balaji.ep; 02-26-2010, 02:52 PM.
