^^^ Even i was thinking the same when i saw the price of the filter... Only thing is putting a k&n would mean losing anything between 5-10 kms in mileage...
Anyways, I have heard bangalore wheels stocks k&n... So i'm guessing that would be a safe place to get it done... In the sense that hopefully they'll know the correct jet settings after putting the filter...

Thanks Prashant, I had checked with Orion motors, they did tell me that they do stock K&N and it was they who quoted Rs.1700. considered getting the k&n cleaning kit, but that too is around Rs.1000. For now I will stick with OE filter, will consider changing it once I move closer to office, now mileage being an issue.
Guys anyone already tried installing a K&N filter on Gladi?

You cannot easily change the speedo, tacho or fuel meter as the wheel diameter differ in pulsars and gladis... Pulsar have 17" wheels... Whereas gladi's have 18"... Thus leading to errors in the readings... I don really know if any digi console can be fitted in the gladi...Originally posted by madhav krishna View Postdudes had anyone tried 2 change or modify the console(speedometer, tachometer & fuelmeter) like the one similar to pulsar i.e the pointer of the meter glows when the light is turned on...............& even is it possible to fit a tripmeter on our gladdy???????

I would suggest that you don use synthetic right now... Try it after 5000kms... Your engine needs to wear and tear properly initially... And it is said that mineral oils help in this process...
@arun- Even i might change to k&n... But a little later though... Many people on orkut's gladi community have k&n filter fixed... They only claim of better throttle response after the change... and the grunt

@madav
ude I would say you stick with the OE console of the Gladi, in case you are not satisfied with the colour you can change the console light to Leds, white would be my choice if I were you, or you can go for Blue,Green or Red .
@Prashanth :Thanks dude. Will check that out, before I change I need to know the exact jet sizes and also the affect on fuel economy.

@scilent killer: That is indeed a very good mileage you get for your machine , I personally have never got more than 53 kmpl.
Guys I have changed the head light bulb to 60/55 w Philips premium ,wanted to go for osram silver star or Bosch but just couldn't find one. The light is far more better now, no electrical modifications made. The H4 a direct fit. I hope the reflector on gladiator was of a better design, it just does not give a good throw.

i want to get my bike serviced fast because i dont know what kind of service they r doing when i am not there . I mean i dont know whether they doing any cleaning etc. or they r simply changing the oil & washing the bike. I hav even heard from my friends that most bike service centers dont do any proper servicing (my personal experience also). I hav even heard that the service centre guys simply wash the bike & do fake replacement of parts & sometimes not even change the oil & bill for it. If the service would be done in our observation they atleast they could not do any such kind of things.....NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT
