can anyone tell what is front & rear sprocket tooth size in the new bike

It should be 14 front and 44 rear.

Just bought a Gladiator SS ( Black-Red)... will be posting the pics in a few days.

Too early to comment on the ownership experience, but it seems the engine feels dragged/strained even at low speeds 30-40 kmph. It could be due to the fact that I was riding a Unicorn for the last two years, or the running-in period of the bike.

the bike runs just fine...its may be as you opted for a less cc bike after using a higher cc... i am riding the same bike u bought for about 1.6 years now.....mine is running just fit n fine....
guess u will be happy after the first service....

Not to worry with your bike. Its the best bike in 125cc class. Initial pickup is less compared to other 125 cc bikes. But after 5k RPM you will see the power of the bike. Wait till 3k kms and then you will see the difference.

Met with an Accident !!

Well, bad news . Not long did I ride for a little over 200 kms and there was trouble in the wait - I was passing by a marriage hall on Sunday at a meagerly low speed of 20-30 kmph, when the bridegroom's horse suddenly came from nowhere and hit me from the side. I sustained some repairable damages and so did my bike . Well, the front cowling's ( part around the headlight) right side, left panel beside the seat, exhaust cap and right handle cap are severely scratched. Also, the seat grab-rail at back needs replacement.

Since I bought my bike from Company showroom at Pune, I went to them for an insurance claim. They were out of stock for the replacement parts , but here is the cost estimate provided by them :

Front cowling : - 1400/-
Left Panel beside the seat : - 350/-
Seat Grab-rail at the back : - 650/-
Exhaust cap : - 150/-
Handle cap : - 50/-
Total : - 2600/-

Of these, all except the grab-rail are plastic parts, hence will get only 50% of the cost. While for the grab-rail, I will get 90%. The costs should be genuine as it is a company showroom.

BTW, is there a way to adjust the front disc brake ? It seems to be pretty weak, I also tried comparing it with another 2-month old Glady.

I am not sure about the front break. Other users should be able to help you with disc break part.

Brought home my Gladiator yesterday!

Actually, a friend rode it home, and I was pillion . Now, will start to turn into a biker. I still need to get a leg-guard attached to it, as well as the front number plate. And a full cover.

What happened was the showroom representative told me that stickers were an alternative to the plate, which spoiled the look of the bike. He showed me couple of bikes which had sticker number plates on the front mud-guard. So, I agreed to it. As the mechanic was putting the sticker on, I asked about its legality, and he said "It is not legal. RTO can fine you, but everyone uses it"

So in 1-2 days, I will go out to get the front number plate and leg-guard attached.

Hope you have a great time with your gladi... Try getting the number plate under the headlight... The one on top of it looks bad in my opinion... Have fun riding...

I don't think there's a bracket to mount the number plate below the headlight .

Ask your Yamaha dealer... Im pretty sure there is one... Although its not how the number plate mount comes from the company... Initially i had my number plate below my headlight... Then switched to a sticker as i broke my number plate...

even i have seen some gladiators with the under headlight number plate but can anyone tell me what's the way to put it...coz there is no clamp for the under headlight number plate...???

This basically hurts mud guard...That's what the mechanic in the showroom told me....

Bike won't start!

I got my DL yesterday, and decided to start learning biking today. So early morning decided to take my Gladiator out for its first ride with its owner and also top up the tank (as the showroom guys had put in only 2L of fuel)...

And the bike stalled!!!

There's fuel in the tank - I can hear it sloshing. The battery isn't dead - lights, etc. are working.

I hear a soft cranking noise (as is normal) for about a second, and then a hard whirring noise, at which point, I leave the switch. Kick starting also doesn't work.

Is this what is called an air-lock? I did forget to move the fuel cock to the RES position and the bike coughed and went to sleep once. Then I swore mightily (every new rider manual mentions the fuel cock!) and turned the cock to RES position, the bike started again.

Another thing - I hear a swishing noise from the front of the bike, probably the wheel, as I moved the bike; like two metal parts rubbing against each other. Is this a "new bike" sound?

Do you have a disc brake? Could be from the pads or even some dirt in the pads.
