N all three of us ( me, sriram n you) have red black gladi's...
wat a coincidence tat we hav same coloured bikes

now if the sriram also lives in bangalore then it would be a double coincidence

i hav tried the polish but its not tat effective on scratches. I heard tat the formula 1 rubbing compound is effective in removing the scratches
      Formula 1 - Rubbing Compounds

it is available at the big bazaar at hebbal for Rs.199.
i am fed up of this black colour bcoz of scratches & the dust is also visible very clearly. If it is possible then i would change the entire body to a red-siver one on which the scratches & dust r not much visible.

I missed this before... Yeah polish is not very effective... But because of the shine it tends to hide the scratches to some extent... N i don know about formula 1 rubbing compound... Will look around to see if there are any reviews... N i guess it would be cheaper to paint your whole bike than change the body to the silver red one... I asked about a painting the bike recently and the guy said he'll charge three thousand...

Oh n sriram does not live too far away... He is from Chennai...

Hmmm... Yeah the cops are becoming more and more strict about bluish lights... Coil rewinding n stuff can be done... N a all dc setup also can be achieved... But it'll cost a fair deal... I guess a good 2500 for the coil rewind, dc conversion and rr unit and new stronger bulb...

              • just leave it dude
y take a headache in this coil rewinding & all this stuff. Its a mere waste of money & time

Actually i feel tat the blue light should be banned bcoz the glare it produces is main cause for accidents.
But these cops dont do so for collecting the fine or bribe from the people.

                • The glare is because most of them don't use HID's properly... Many of them buy HID of above 6000k... Buying a lower temperature bulb would mean lesser blue light... N if people use the HID's with projectors then there will be no glare for the person in front... Using the bulb in the stock reflector causes glare...

N yeah i'm just gonna let it be... Anyways, i might sell the bike anytime for a bigger cc bike... N all this would just mean that the bike sells for cheaper... Its not that i dont like the gladi... Its a super bike... And if i don't sell it also i'll be happy to use it for years to come... Jus that i need more oomph... A better bike for touring and going around tracks... N i'm sucker for retro... So a bullet is always on the cards... N if nothing works out n money is not a prob... Modified gladi is also an option

P.S: By now it can be ascertained that i'm a confused soul :-)

                  • I would beg to differ here. Improving the headlights is worth the money. Seeing an oncoming vehicle/pothole/oilspill/animal even a second early can make all the difference in your seeing the light of the next day.
The headlights maybe alright for city riders but for tourers who maintain constant high speed bursts or office going people who return home in the evening, the headlight must be upgraded.
I wont mind paying 2.5k for coil rewinding rather than buying a stupid exhaust that just sounds good.

                    • ^^^ I also agree that it is worth the money... I don have the money... N that's y i will let it be...
I also agree with Madhav saying that it is a headache... There will be only one mech out of ten who would know how to get the coil re wound properly...

N i dint get the stupid exhaust sounds good part?? None of us here are spending on a stupid exhaust rather than putting a good headlight...

                      • actually many people dont know to adjust the light & blame the bike..
tats wat i think we r also doing
try to adjust the light up & down to suit ur requirement. If still not satisfied then better to change it.

Most of the people who are not satisfied by the sound of the Gladiator go for this mod. Hence my statement. I didnt point at any of the Gladiator owners. Only those who have went for this mod.

Nobody is blaming the bike here. We are just unsatisfied with the headlights. Adjusting the light would just vary the angle of throw of the beam. It wont increase the illumination provided in any way.
I have seen people blindly going for white lights/halogens or higher wattage bulb. I did the same too. Ended up with the same illumination but white in color.

Leave the bike as it is if you are satisfied with the stock headlights.

                                Hey Prashanth,

Me too in the same state. Tried CBZ Xtreme in test ride and liked it. But waiting for any new release from Yamaha in 150cc.

My Mind is flickering around CBZ & Unicorn. Dont want to go for Baja. TVS - vibrations. Higher cc bikes budget problem & fuel efficiency.

So waiting to see some changes in CBZ or Unicorn.

                                Cheers!
