some time the seat does not reload properly
and the helmet keeps on hanging

Well guys have been following the whole thread from start to end. It really helped me to make a decision on my first bike.. Lava Red FZ 16, got it today only, sadly without any papers or even the manual (will be provided after a week) since its from a local dealer.. till then its in the garage.
I have some questions though, does Yamaha provide the toolkit with the bike, other than the first aid pouch? Because i got the first aid kit only. Also the first gear was not engaging when the bike was not started, like before starting. But after starting it was super smooth. Rest all is just great!!!
To say anything regarding this monster will be understatement,
but still ITS AWESOME!!!!

you will get a tool kit along with your bike
no ,there is no problem of gear even when the bike is off.
when the bike is switched off to put your first gear you have to move your bike ahead or backwards so the chain sets on .
MIGHT BE BECAUSE YOU ARE RIDING FOR THE FIRST TIME YOU DIDN'T KNEW THAT.
because the bike starts in any gear if your holding the clutch.
congrats for your new bike.
always wear a helmet

Hey thanks bro for the info, will surely catch the dealer for this.. and i meant first bike of my own, till now was riding my uncles bike, so its not the first time for me. so i know all the know-how of the machine.
Well tried everything for shifting the gear to first, but was bouncing back to neutral like a spring.
and surely FZ ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

nah i am using it for 7 months not a single scratch i will post pic later. as somebody posted regarding under seat lock its the most unsafe lock as anybody can cut your helmet strap easily, in a parking lot besides its being cumbersome.Originally posted by malikkhan095 View Postmine lock also has no problem
i am using since 10 months
might create problem for the pillion
cycle lock creates problem while riding
it create some scratches while riding so we have to carry it in a bag.

ok dude ,
i was suppose to say it is the first time you are riding FZ
it will take some time to know your fz
when i took the test ride i also felt the shifting of the gear is a problem but i got to know later on how to shift it.
did you tried moving your bike ahead or backwards , when the bike is off and when you are trying to put the 1st gear,
when the bike is off , please try putting the gear while moving the bike means (push and pull to and fro for a small distance)
if the problem exist please go to yamaha service station and get your bike checkedLast edited by malikkhan095; 09-24-2009, 11:07 AM.ADRENALINE PUMPS, SOUL FLY'S, WHEN I AM ON MY 2 WHEELS
