Depends on competence and quality of work

Its not needed, but helps in boosting compression in old bikes , helps in reducing piston slap . No need if bike is doing good.

clean and lubricate chain , check if chain set is worn. there can be multiple reasons for vibration.

No , but if he tightened them its not an issue.

Guys,
Anybody using fully synthetic oil ? my unicorn runs on motul techno synth (sem-synthetic) and i am planning to go for fully synth. Any suggestions ?

Also, my gear shifts are becoming hard. Any solution ?

After reading shv18 posts regarding shell rimula r4 treatment on his cbr250, I am going ahead with the same on my unicorn 2007 model which has done 61000 kms...and which is feeling rough from few 100 kms....will post my experiences once done about 500 kms on same....

Guys I have my old 2004 unicorn lying around, haven't b used it since 2014 when it seized and I got a CBR 250, I'm planning to revive my bike, like rebore, change the brake setup, piston, etc, would like to know how much it would cost? Bike did 1,74,000km , one of the best engines ever! I really want to get it to running condition by this year end, keep me posted on spares, I'm from Chennai.

I am not sure about the brake setup or piston work.

Rebore + engine head work costed me close to 5000 when the bike was around 37K Kms.

Now at 48+k Kms, I have left the bike in local garage as it started consuming oil. Culprit seems to be bore again. I will let you know the cost of the current work. Hopefully by weekend.

Today My Unicorn (Black Panther) completes 6 Years.

Kilometers traveled were very less but the memories which I have with my bike cant be explained in words.

Though I got many situations to sell it, I am not able to.

Unfortunately, my bike is in local mechanic garage for more than 20 days for a re-boring work.
Have to blast my mechanic tomorrow and start the run-in of the bike again.

Air filter around 12k kms and engine oil around 2k kms (For normal HONDA mineral oil).

Hi Guys,

Please forgive me as i have not read full Thread. Please help me out whether Honda Unicorn need 1 ltr engine oil or 1.2 ltr. I am not sure about that as some says 1.2 ltr and some says 1 ltr. Some guys/mechanics are saying if only complete dismantling of engine then only use 1.2 ltr otherwise use 1ltr. Please help me out as i even lost my user manual. Also let me know whether Motul Semi synthetic 5100 15w50 is good for weather condition of mumbai for Unicorn (generally recommended 20w40). Please suggest some other options.

If rightside crankcase is opened, you would need 1.2 L.
For normal oil change only 900ml is needed, sometimes 1L. Check the oil level using dipstick after pouring in 900ml, add more if not sufficient. The oil level should be between min and max marks.

Honda Unicorn monosuspension mods....

Hi friends,

I have a 1st gen Honda Unicorn (KS).. The monosuspension seems to be very stiff.

Did anyone have any idea whether suspension of FZ/R15 fit to Unicorn??

Any tech details of the mounting points of both suspension.
