I haven't ridden non ABS model till now as mine has ABS. But Nissin brake has way more reputation than Bybe (which is Indian subsidiary of Brembo brakes). Also, having ABS is always good have for Indian roads.Originally posted by siva23
Thanks bro.....I will try to negotiate , theres ABS 2018 model for 1.5 lakhs after bargain.
is the ABS /Nissin brake changes the whole level of performance ?
And 1.5L is sky rocking price for 2018 model.

Hey siva23 BS4 madel comes with new graphics and LED headlights and also to be fair it's always good to go with recent years bike than older one( as age is the factor for most rubber parts and metal rust is another issue comes with it). I will suggest to go for 2019 model (try to negotiate further as Honda discontinued the model due to which part availability going to be an issue).
Also I will suggest you to search for ABS model for better braking efficiency.

Well, its nice to see you still have the CBR 250, iron horse. I hope blackthorn still has his. For me, CBR is still the main transport. It shares the garage with a Safari TCIC, which i got in 2020.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postwow, this thread is silent over a week now. used to be 20+ posts a day. what's up folks. how's the CBR doing ?
I've used the CBR to charge my phone during floods, charge my inverter battery ( for a little while, try at own risk), and buy stuff for old people who cant venture out due to covid risks.
I've switched to masseter at rear, front is mrf rev z c1 radial i think.
I lost interest in long trips due to heavy traffic in kerala. Can't enjoy the bike. Shims and clutch are stock at 70k kms odo.

Most of the doubts had been either cleared here or in Mr. Shivang aka Shv18 thread. So I guess it has become more or less dormant...Hope more interaction will take place once people come out the Covid restrictions and start to ride more.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postwow, this thread is silent over a week now. used to be 20+ posts a day. what's up folks. how's the CBR doing ?

Some OEM spares for sale for the CBR. I thought posting it here rather than in the classifieds would be helpful and easy to access. The following will be sold as a complete set.
5 x Oil Filter Cover Gasket
3 x OEM Oil Filter (Thailand)
1 x NGK Iridium OE Spark Plug
1 x OE Cam Chain Tensioner/Lifter
1 x Cylinder HEAD Gasket .
Attaching pictures of the set.
Interested parties can DM me, I can share the total and shipping.
Cheers!

I too have changed fork oil and seal last year, I put Gulf fork oil which cost me ~85rs per 180ml bottle, as bottle does not mention any grade details it was kind of experiment. I put ~10ml more than specified value, results where great (nor too soft like stock oil not too stiff).Originally posted by siddhant View PostHi, I am thinking of replacing the fork oil on the bike. Motul 20W fork oil (or similar) vs Honda's fork oil - what is the difference and how does it affect suspension, braking, ride quality?
It stuck me hard as seen the condition old oil became. I will suggest riders to consider to change the fork oil and seal every 20k km.

The stock one comes at a 10w rating, which makes the front end dive, being soft. The 20w helps to stiffen the forks the right amount, so that it helps reducing the fork dive and in turn gives good cornering ability and stability. I've used 20w and am pretty much happy with it.Originally posted by siddhant View PostHi, I am thinking of replacing the fork oil on the bike. Hi guys! I need to write an essay at university on the topic of motorcycles. Can't anyone tell me a good service for this?
I risked and placed an order at paperhelp, but it was a huge mistake! I just lost my money. I should read some paper help reviews before.

3000 bucks for the new gen lockset? That isn't expensive. Did you find out what the cost was for the expensive (pre 2013) model lockset was?Originally posted by ChasingDucksAndGeese View Post
Closing the loop on an old issue.
As other members predicted, Aliexpress shipping did not resume. I eventually gave up on aliexpress & spent an afternoon annoying my svc center parts guys. We went through the parts manual of the CBR250 and ordered one of the two OEM keysets that were options (I picked the cheaper one). It took over 4 weeks to arrive but it fit my bike (2015 non-abs) when it finally got here.
The part number was 35010-KYJ-T00. Total price including GST, EST, STDs and etc's was Rs.3,180.

Are you sure the Rs 1,500 set you saw was an OEM set? Maybe it was one of the chinese copies I posted. I checked two svc centers & they both said it would be over Rs 12,000. It's > Rs 16,000 on https://safexbikes.com/productdetail...TS/201/JHCB005
I'm going to try AliExpress when shipping rates come back down to normal. They want USD 50 to ship it right now.
I've also been thinking of just replacing the ignition switch with a keyless ignition system (rfid fob), but they are just as expensive. I don't want to spend too much on this, this is my second bike & not used a lot. I will probably be selling it in a year or two.

This type of sound is mainly comes from two areas but from front suspension itself. One is from worn cone set bearing and from hard suspension. Hard suspension is due to wrong oil grade or excess oil filled. Check and confirm from mechanic as it's not DIY kind of stuff.
And this is thread is only for CBR250R for other bikes there are separate treads are already created.
