Also, from your profile pic it seems you have the BS4 or 2017+ version. Maybe it is tuned slightly different. Mine is October 2011 manufactured BS3 variant.

Thanks Siddhant. For me, it lugs more than "slightly" below 70 kmph (~4.4k RPM) and literally impossible below 60kmph (~3.8k RPM). Anyway, probably I shouldn't lose sleep over this issue much as I generally don't ride at that low speeds on 6th gear. Just wanted to confirm because it was shocking to see some able to comfortably ride at 50-55 on 6th gear.

I just went out and rode the bike at 50 kph in 6th gear. RPMs were around 3100-3200 but the bike could pull comfortably from that speed, although with a slight hint of lugging. Definitely didn't feel natural to ride at 50 kph in 6th.

It has been almost 10 years I have my CBR and since day 1 till now, I haven't been able to ride it below 70kmph speed on 6th gear. It "lugs" at any speeds below 70 on 6th gear. In fact I never prefer 6th gear unless I cross 80kmph on highways.

I do not know the "minimum comfortable speed" in 6th gear. In my regular riding, I usually downshift to 5th below 75 kph. One day, I was cruising between 70-80 kph in 6th when there was little fuel (1 bar) and the nearest petrol pump was 40 kms away. There was no lugging at all. However, 50 kph in 6th gear sounds a bit extreme.

For me, downshifting (and throttle blipping) to get into the appropriate gear has become second nature, especially when I'm on the highway. I don't even think about it anymore. For extracting maximum mileage, I believe in smooth throttle/brake inputs, upshifting/downshifting appropriately, i.e. neither over-revving nor lugging and cruising around 5000 rpms.

When you give a visit to service center dont disclose your vehicle model or year. Just tell them the part number take your old brake pads as sample so you can make sure they are same.

I Could have send you the brakes pads by courier if you where living near my city. By the way where do you live?
Mumbai. There are plenty of Honda ASC here but the one closest to me "Sai Point Honda" only has the 2.2k front pad.
Will visit the other ASC and see if they have the specific numbered pad you mentioned.

the Nikavi ones are exceptionally low priced and are being claimed as Sintered. That's why I am waiting for confirmation on how they actually are.

Yet to hear back from Nikavi on email. They never pick up phone calls.

One more thing i want to ask, I want to get the front caliper overhauled, the pistons are a bit sticky making the front wheel jam. I am searching for the o-rings and as always Honda ones are available nowhere. The sizes of the o-rings are 30mm and 32 mm. Any idea if any other bike would have the same size o-rings? Tried Fz,R15 ones, they are small. If someone could point out that would be really helpful.

    thank you.
As CBR 250R ABS have floating calipers if they are not able to float or retract back to their original position they keep rubbing on the disk. There are few reasons which tend to this problems are :

    1) boot and bush pin rubber swelling or damaged
    2) caliper pistons seals damaged or swelled
    3) caliper pistons corrosion or surface damaged

Swelling of rubber parts can cause due to using non- compatible rubber parts cleaner. if it comes in contact in liquids like petrol, diesel , kerosene ,etc they tend to swell. they also swell or get damaged due to non-compatible grease used for lubrication. they need proper caliper grease (TVS GIRLING) or silicon grease for lubrication.

If you dont want to replace the calipers you can follow these steps and try to resolve your problem :

Step 1: Change the boot (rubber) of caliper sliding pins and grease them with caliper grease and check if it solves your problem.
If it still doesnt solves your problem proceed with Step 2
Step 2: Flush the old brake fluid completely , check the pistons and caliper piston area for scoring or damage. change the seals with new one clean the pistons with brake fluid and reassemble.

CBR 250R parts are not easily available. so you have to order them and wait patiently. you can try SILVER AUTOLINES, PUNE or RUBY SALES CORPORATION, PUNE.

The OEM ones cost 2.2k and since my usage is very less, i do not want to spend so much unless there is no cheaper alternative. Looking at the product in the link you shared, the ratings are pretty bad for the front pad. Can you confirm you got it from that link too ? and when will you be fitting it in your bike ?

    Thanks shv18,
I am yet to get a response from Nikavi regarding the brake pads for my 2011 CBR.
Did you buy the pads from the Amazon links you had shared in the earlier post that day or did you get it directly from Nikavi via email/call ?

PS - Do share your review on these new pads whenever you fit them after the OEMs wear off.

    Hello,

For those who own the Honda CBR 250R 2018 BS4 (Dual Channel-ABS version only) and are looking for alternatives for OEM Stock Honda Brake pads, one may look at the options below:

Pic 1 & 2: Front Brake pads for Honda CBR 250R (BS4 ABS Version only)

Part number for the same is Nikavi GDP09 and if i am correct is a direct fit on the BS4 CBR 250R ABS model with Nissin Two Piston Caliper.

This one is available on Amazon:

    LInk: https://www.amazon.in/NIKAVI-Front-T...C%2CB07C9R4H3K

For the rear, i believe since the 2011 - 2017 models had the same Nissin Caliper (Combined-ABS), The last gen of 2018 CBR250R ABS (Dual Channel ABS) shouldn't be any different.

Pic 3 & 4: Rear Brake pad for Honda CBR250R (C-ABS Model only)

Part number for the same is - Nikavi GDP02

    Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

However, i would still recommend any present owner who may be interested in the same to get in touch with Nikavi Sales team and verify whether both the brake pads shared above are a direct fit on their BS4 Honda CBR250R ABS Model (email ID: [email protected]) before making a purchase decision.

Kindly note: the above information has been shared here as i recently came to know through a friend of mine that for the BS4 ABS model, OEM Honda brake pads for the front caliper has been jacked upto Rs 4,000/- which is simply daylight robbery as even well known aftermarket brands like EBC, they are selling front brake pads for a much higher CC motorcycle like Ninja 650 for under Rs. 3,000/-.

If the brake pads shared above are a direct fit and give the required performance to the owner it will drastically reduce the cost of ownership and maintenance for the same.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers,

Hey, I would like to buy the oil filter cover gasket as the one in my bike is slightly bent causing minor oil leak. I have sent you a DM.
