B7ACKTHORN Thankyou, I am actively looking for used CBR 250r ABS or non ABS in mumbai for a very reasonable price, maybe 50 - 55k. Was looking for 2012 to 2014 year.

Could you please also tell me can the Nissin Calliper be used on Non ABS bike? I really like the 3 Pot Nissin.

I have been actively searching for the same but its not available anywhere in Mumbai. Dealers say that the tires are not being imported due to govt ban.

    Thanks

There weren't any such Japanese models. Some of the engines were CBU from 2011 to 2014 from Thailand and some of the electronic components were sourced from Japan, at least as far as my memory serves. Post that, almost entirely the bike was manufactured in India barring a couple of items, but for the most part there was nothing Japanese apart from the name that it has to offer.

Thanks a lot. The sound does come and go even when the engine is turned off. I'm not mechanically savvy, so I'll take it do a different mechanic and try to figure out what the problem is. I'll keep it posted here.

My ABS light, however, is not signalling any error, and the braking feels as it has already been. When I spoke to the mechanic at the service centre he told me he's been seeing it in other bikes as well, and that it's probably bearings rusting in the ABS system. I'm confused why it turned up suddenly and that too after a service. Has anyone here faced something similar? What can be done about it?
The issue is something else. Usually ABS unit doesn't make strange sounds while operation, they are mostly extremely silent. ABS units either work well or fail for good. Being a robust unit, they last pretty much the life of the motorcycle. Whirring noise while driving usually can mean a variety of things, starting from failed or failing wheel bearings, to failed/failing bearings on the swingarm or suspension linkage or the shock absorber itself, considering all these are emanating from the rear of the bike. Only a thorough diagnoses can yield the exact issue. There are no bearings in an ABS unit for it to fail. Not bleeding brake fluid and letting it sit for a long time can make the electro-mechanical mechanism to get stuck but again that's extremely rare.

Start off by inspecting the vehicle by pressing the rear of the bike several times for any sounds or try inspecting for any unduly sounds with the engine turned off while coasting over a speed breaker or pothole ridden roads. If this sound arises with the engine turned off, the problem is elsewhere. Experiment the above with caution and on less traffic areas. Good luck. Keep your observations posted.

    Cheers!

Motul Motocool is yellow ish in color. So, it's hard to distinguish even with a flashlight, but with a little getting low and dirty, you can check the level in the coolant reservoir.

    Cheers!

The reservoir coolant level just isn't visible sadly. Even with Mobile flash on it. The color of the reservoir tank and the coolant is same yellowish. Maybe that's why.

Yes it is coolant only. Not oil.
I will check for the coolant level in the reservoir tank tomorrow morning. But if it was overfilled, wouldn't it leak immediately or within a few days of filling ? It was filled on 20th October 2021. So for almost 3 months there wasn't any puddle. Anyway, il check for the level tomorrow and update.

Il have to check the service manual on how to locate the thermostat housing area as I am clueless about it. But I hope it is nothing more than excess coolant being thrown out.

PS - so, from those 3 drain tubes near side stand, one of them for excess coolant drain ?
What are the other 2 for ?

Two possible causes. The side stand is the area where all the drain tube outlets are congregated. It should be pretty easy to identify. If the leaking residue has properties of water and smells sweet that's perhaps 100% coolant.
