Sorry just out of curiosity I am popping this question. Who or what is jaypee, what's the motive of this event? And only GTR's allowed?

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

i was sitting in the stands on T4 during the Indian F1 GP, its a long straight between T3 n T4, but i doubt i'll be able 2 go for it..since it'll be my 1st time on the track..will gradually get used 2 it..the bike does 200+ without much effort..from there on..its another story..so lets see..although the straights will be full of hard accelerating n braking..i'm looking forward 2 the twists, chicanes n turns..

i went 2 chennai for the Yamaha R15 championship, Madras Motorsports Club racetrack, did all my overtaking on the turns so..seems im a natural..

got it from singapore..was on sale @ 50%..so i got a really good deal for a top notch racing suit..andrea dovizioso n cal crutchlow (monster energy yamaha tech 3 moto gp team) wear spidi suits..

suit used 2 retail for 1499 USD, its on sale @ 899$
i got it for 950 singapore dollars, which is around 42 something..
so it works out 2 about 40K INR

JPSI (jaypee sports international) are responsible for sports city in greater noida..they made the race track n are planning for cricket and football stadiums as well..
they were even involved with the yamuna expressway which reduces the distance to agra 2 a meager 165km

for the track day..any 4 wheeler/2 wheeler is allowed..should have the usual-valid drivers license..full race gear is a must..they dont allow u on the track otherwise..trust me..i know..

thats why ive gone n spent a bomb on my gear..got other stuff as well..gloves, boots..since i getting into it more n more..was selected as a marshall for the inaugural Indian F1 GP..gunning for it again this year..

5-6k per session, sounds a bit costly na, sorry I am a novice but in MMS track at chennai, it is 400 bucks for a Pay and practice session

                  • Guys, My bike has started to feel little bumpier especially while driving slower and even when the roads are nothing to complain. It is not very hard but mild bumps. I could not exactly figure whether it is from the front suspension or the rear ones.

Also the leaning confidence has reduced from what it used to be. I think it is because of this bumpiness. I feel bike is not as planted (as rock solid) while turning even at slow speeds. Any inputs guys?

Note: Haven't changed any suspension settings!

Check if there are any minor bulges or deformations on the front tyre (including side wall). Whats the current ODO reading?

                      • Manoj, Check the Tyre Pressure first - I am facing the same issue for the last few days and after setting it to the right PSI - bike feels much better.

This I have verified more than once. I had experienced issues earlier due to lower air pressure. So checked that first.

@Brat: never thought of that. Will check it.

I also have doubt if fork oil has reduced. it's 5k on the ODO and third service overdue. Using it only for commuting twice or thrice a week nowadays. No time for highways!

It'd be a shocker if the fork oil levels had reduced. Even with much abuse and aggressive braking, the oil may not be the culprit for 15,000kms easily - unless the seals are affected.

The symptoms you had mentioned sounds more related to tyre than suspension. Most suspension issues (Rebound, Compression, Leak, etc.) tend to grow in magnitude with higher speeds, if your issue is more profound at low speeds even of butter smooth roads, it is worthwhile checking other parameters such as tyre alignment and physical deformations.

-Does the GT sway from one side to the other while slowing down from 40kmph to 10kmph at a slow rate?

                            -Was it dropped by accident?

-Does the GT pull to either side if you happen to relax your grip on the handle?

you need to understand the differences in the MMSC track in chennai n the BIC track in noida..n i know when i say this..because i have been on the chennai track for the Yamaha R15 championship in 2008

the chennai track is pretty old..also, in terms of facilities n the state of the track itself..it is miles behind the BIC..

the circuit is an international standard race track..already hosted 1 F1 GP, the 2nd is confirmed for the last week of oct..apart from F1, WSBK n MotoGP will be debuting next year..

many global manufacturers (BMW, Mercedes, Audi...) regularly have track days for their customers..Merc charges 50K for their driving school n 75K for non-customers

i'm not saying 5-6K is justified..but 1 needs to realise..that jaypee have spent millions on infrastructure n facilities..n whats worse is..they dont break even by hosting F1, or other race events, track days is how they slowly n steadily build up..

hope that gives u enough of a perspective..i've been on the track as spectator, was even selected as a marshall..n was witness 2 the 1st track day..n now im gearing up for the 2nd 1

No. But one thing I noticed. when I am at third gear riding at 90-95 kmph, around 5-6krpm and leave the bars, I could see that the handle's starts to rattle mildly after a second, and the rate keeps increasing. But this is not happening while at other rpms(high or low)! And to note, the road I tried had heavy crosswinds(ECR)
My answer in bold. The tyres did not have any bulges or cracks! could it be balance or alignment? Or I am not sure whether it is all only in my mind!
