Hello All,

I'm Roshan from Bangalore, was a dream to own a SBK from the days when i had a poster of the Busa and Ducati Streetfighter on my wall way back in my school days. To this end i saved and saved, did part time jobs during my Engineering etc. I grew up on a healthy diet of Automobile info, frequent reader of Overdrive,Autocar etc. Have a huge collection of all seasons of BBC Top Gear UK, Owned 2 motorcycles (Both RE thunderbirds..differents versions) and clocked well over 35k kms on them.

Still the dream of one day owning a 600cc+ bike remained. Started working after graduation and after saving up some more finally had enough to pick up a used GT650R.From then on spent 3 days reading this thread from start to end and decided to take the plunge.(Yes i didn't really buy her new..Hope i'm welcome here ).The bike is a Red-Black beauty and looks stunning in that colour in my opinion.

Just picked her up today and what an amazing feeling it is. I did have safety gear from previous bikes and went to pick up the bike all geared up. After the formalities i had a good 60 kms ride on NICE road. I had made up my mind to keepa check on my right hand until a few weeks maybe till i get adjusted to the supersport riding position. Being 6'1 the reach for the bars isn't an issue and quiet comfortable. As decided i decided to not rev the bike hard, then soon realised the bike just sails to 120 and past with barely any throttle input and the revs well in check. well i hit around 140 on a straight empty stretch and went back to cruising at around 100.

I'm new to the Bangalore Biking scene and a shout out to the riders here. I would really like it if i get a chance to participate in open rides on weekends where i may join you guys. Thanks in advance

PS: The hunt for better gear is on. The 650 demands it . Any inputs in this regard are appreciated

Good to know.. congrats for your bike. It's no doubt a lovely machine..I love my GT still after clocked 10K KMS

Regarding the gears.. go for airoh helmet, alpinestar or komine jacket and pant and axo shoes. (best economical combo)

Thank you for the suggestions on gear. I will go check them out.

On another note, I did an end to end back and forth on Nice road today along with a friend on his duke 200. Still getting used to the new riding position and looking for the perfect one for me. The ride was brilliant with great weather and even cloud cover prevented it getting too hot. The gear shift I noticed is slightly clunky(hard to shift in first 2 gears). Any inputs on that?.. I will be dropping the bike off for service the next I get a chance. Would help if I had some specifics if anyone has had experience in this regard.

Saw a Black/grey GT650r last evening.. Saw first time on road.. Its a really good looking bike (attention graber for sure)
but the exhaust was way too loud and the dude was throttling way to much to show off.. Maybe some aftermarket exhaust..

Ride safe and have fun.

LOL, not every owner talks about realism. But GT650r is the best one present in India in 600cc seg, come talk about performance, exhaust note, and looks.

Update on the gear,
Picked up the Sparx S-07 Skullz helmet on recommendation from a friend. Nice fit. Considering getting Zues gloves(with gauntlet) tried them on and they were surprisingly comfortable. Anyone using these? Want to know how these last..

Already mentioned just my opinion. As an GT owner had seen enough in Bangalore. It's your money, it's your call.

Hey roshan price of the exhaust seems fine. Arnab- could you shed some light on the Solfer exhaust, as you have installed the same.

melroyal: It was installed in my bike just for testing purpose. There is a YouTube vid for it :
Watch "Solfer exhaust Italy for GT650 R/N" on YouTube
Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

The sound is even better than LeoVince or any other exhaust I've heard on GT. Comes only in Silver color but I believe the price is too much for an unknown brand. Its says it's made in Italy. And cut the 1K installation crap! You can install it yourself or through any roadside mechanic.
Regarding the cheating news by Bangalore dealer, It's not only money Hyosung and these dealers are cheating people with whatever way they can. Poor service, swapping parts with new bikes without informing the owner, dishonest people throughout top to bottom. Although I found people from Pune showroom are good. They've swapped parts with delivery ready new vehicle many times for my bike like ignition coil, clutch plates, one way clutch etc etc.
If a proper quality check done by a third party company I think they'll not allow this company to sell bikes at all. Yes the build quality and electricals in the bike so bad.
