Hi Guys,

Had puncture at 2K kms,, Impulse boasts with Puncture Endurance but I really didn't understand why it couldn't resist to the below object:

Thought the puncture rectification will be really painful but thank god it wasn't, I held the bike on side stand and the puncture wala rectified the puncture without removing the wheel....

It hurts to see such things happen to our beloved bike n its surprising to see that how a blunt object can puncture the tire of a "Dirt" bike. Good thing is that you
did not have to go through any lengthy process of getting the puncture repaired.

Hope it doesnt happen again with any of our bikes.

Ya buddy even I'm utterly confused how such a blunt object could puncture the tyre that too not on long run ...
As suggested by our friend dragon_rider should get the puncture free liquid filled very soon

First, there is nothing called puncture free liquid. It is called Slime (green colored liquid) and it does not prevent punctures. What it does is, in case of a puncture it seals the hole so that u don't lose air and get a flat immediately. So u will be able to ride the bike for few kms before fixing the flat. And it is mandatory to get the puncture fixed else u may damage the tube more.

Second, there is something called as tough tubes available in US, UK and other countries for dirt tires. (Not sure abt India). They r super thick rubber that it avoids punctures to a great extend. I have tried it on my KLR before and didn't face any flat in 1 yr of offroading n touring.

Bought green impulse today for 75k from Sai motors, Banshankari.

Earlier in the day, on the way to sai motors (Banshankari) from my home (Marathalli), I was still in double mind to decide on hero impulse.
stopped at a bajaj show room, asked for a quotation and test ride of 200NS. was told that the test ride can be arranged tomorrow, on road price 1.1 lakh.
sat on the bike. found it heavy (relative to impulse or duke). But, is a VFM product, considering the fact that even if I sell it off, after an year, I'll get good price.
Not the same case with Impulse.

should I buy impulse or wait 1 day for test ride of 200 NS?

Further down the way, KTM show room, BTM.

test ride and quotation of duke 200. 1.52k onroad. The bike is light. But not the price.

There is a Duke 390, a Ninja 300, a Ninja 600, and the mighty RC8 on display. But, what caught my attention is the 350 SX-F. Tall, feather light, awesome suspension setup.
drooled on the bike for some time. But the bike is only for dispaly. It is not road legal.

But the 350 SX-F made me realize that I like these kind of bikes more than the sharp handling RCs or the naked saports.

Reached Sai motors (Hero show room). after seeing 350 SX-F, I could now appreciate the Hero Impulse more, for it's dirt bike like design, albeit with inadequate suspension and bhp.
But then, the on road price is 75K.

Told them that I'll go for green colour Impulse. Bike was readied in 2 hours. Paid full amount and took the bike home.

Next Bike:
Hoping that KTM launches 350 SX-F, if not next year, 2 or 3 years down the line.
If it is not road legal, just put on lights, horn, and a saree guard.

Hi Buddy,

Welcome aboard n Congratulations for your purchase of new Hero Impulse.

Impulse might have its nuances (like any other bike) but once u get used to it, you will thank urself for not buying any other bike. It may have only 150CC but its good enough for any terrain u can travel usually or otherwise. I took it for a proper off-roading on an unforgiving path with streams n rocky passes, it did not fail me.

After that trip I dont have any doubt abt its performance.

Regards!

There is a dirt track racing organised in my city today infact its started i can hear roars of bikes; entry fee is at 800 bucks(a lil steep TBH) but sadly I came to know about it yesterday evening but anyhow had a plan previously arranged today of going to kolhapur so wont be able to attend it but some of my friends are gonna go to watch it will post photos of event if I get any...

Also vivek congrats on ur new Impulse but I seriously thought u will buy an Orange one after drooling on Duke anyways keep posting about ur future experiences; also one thing I would like to share I know a guy in Kolhapur he bought NS200 back when it was launched and sold it within a month now he own a green Impulse after seeing my bike, bajaj dont have a higher resale value only hero and honda(not dazzler) bikes have good resale value yes Impulse doesnt have a high resale value but one can get a great deal since most of people who sell Impulse are mostly short guys who cant adjust to bike and its mostly under used...

And dont think any manufacturer in India will bring something close to Impulse again remember the last such bike in India was way back in 90's bajaj enduro cant see any new offering like this again in few years or even worse decade...

I am so happy to share - I Smoked a Duke 200 n Honda CBR250 in a street race in traffic on link road (malad) on my Impulse, I wasnt the firestarter though.

I know Impulse wont stand a chance on a strip but traffic n speed breakers helped alot!

They can go fast on their bikes, but definitely not where an Impulse can venture! (no offence meant)

Love its agility n throttle response....am proud.

Regards!

Was returning from work on friday night from airoli to mulund, my main HID was off as jealous chaps from office cut a few wires. After the airoli toll towards mulund, the roads have bigg potholes around 7-8 in a line, all of them really wide and deep, arnd 1 feet deep and 4-5 feet wide. I was at 55-60kmph, no headlight, suddenly saw large pools of mud water, thought the potholes must be small (cuz just before 1 day, they were actually small), flung my bike in them then realised the actual size of them. People around were looking at me and were expecting a mishap, but loved the way my bike handled, both the wheels in the air, was like actual motocross jumps. Bike was 4-5 feets in the air. I really appreciated myself of not buying R15 V2 for such roads. I wonder what would have happened to an r15 v2 in that same situation.

Hero impulse to deal with corruption of contractors and road building and maintenance authorities... Btw I ride on western expressway highway and link road. There are deep and wide potholes, death trap for bikers, but I swear my green impulsive friend has saved me many times in this monsoon. Hahahaha people watch me gliding over those death holes with surprise.

Now that I've my Green Impulse (my first bike), I want to buy some riding gear for myself.

a Helmet, Gloves, and may be a riding suit and shoes. First two are must. last two are..well..let's see...
I need your suggestions, on the above products...like, what to buy,and where.

I live in bangalore..some people suggested to goto JC road. I'm not good at bargaining and usually prefer to goto fixed price shops.

Can someone give me the details of stores which have good range of products at decent prices?

Thans & Regards

Now that I've my Green Impulse (my first bike), I want to buy some riding gear for myself.

a Helmet, Gloves, and may be a riding suit and shoes. First two are must. last two are..well..let's see...
I need your suggestions, on the above products...like, what to buy,and where.

I live in bangalore..some people suggested to goto JC road. I'm not good at bargaining and usually prefer to goto fixed price shops.

Can someone give me the details of stores which have good range of products at decent prices?

Regards
Vinod
