Sounds like a loose chain slack. Get it checked at SVC recommended chain slack is 0.2 to 0.4 inches or 5 to 7 MM

You have replaced stock halogen with LED? Or fitted LED bulb separately?Originally posted by plexus View PostI haven't I have just fitted led bulbs to replace stock halogen.
I had purchased Philips Extremevision H4 bulb, which are brighter than stock, but they failed after 6 months of usage. Mine is 2016 model so daytime headlight ON doesn't help as its a waste of the bulb's life. No point in purchasing it again.

Check the coolant level. If it is under Max and above min it's fine. Riding in traffic makes the engine heat up quick. Did the fans turn on?Originally posted by kris989 View PostMy heat indicator just reached almost full this morning following a 30 km ride. Is this normal?

And the fan did not kick in? (or did you notice it was running slower than usual?Originally posted by kris989 View PostMy heat indicator just reached almost full this morning following a 30 km ride. Is this normal?
The fan usually kicks in when the bars are two below max on the lower segment.
If the fan did not kick in correctly, then two common causes..
1. the fan has failed
2. the coolant temp sensor has failed
both are covered under warranty and will be replaced for free (i.e. if your bike is still under warranty).
Get it checked at the svc with their diag tool.
If the fan did kick in, then check if there is sufficient coolant.
You said 'almost full' , kindly mention exactly how many bars.. normally the upper segment doesn't light up even in bumper to bumper traffic on a d200. the fan kicks in and most of the time it is two below on the lower segment, sometimes one below on the lower segment. I've never seen it enter the upper segment (even after being stuck in traffic for 90 minutes)Last edited by s1d; 06-19-2017, 11:49 AM.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Yesterday it went to the upper segment but not max. The fans did turn on. Today after a 5 km ride the levels did rise up. There wasn't any traffic and I kept it around 50-60 KMPH. I will attach the pics of the levels before and after the ride.Originally posted by s1d View PostAnd the fan did not kick in? (or did you notice it was running slower than usual?

Re: KTM 200 Duke
What i see in the pictures is completely normal and exactly what i described in my earlier post. Yes, most of the time (i.e. after around 4 km of city riding) the bars will two shy of the lower segment. They tend to shoot up more especially if you have the habit of turning off the engine in traffic and restarting.. and then should drop back down once the fan comes on and you start moving.Originally posted by kris989 View PostYesterday it went to the upper segment but not max. the coolant level is also ok, maybe you could top it off a bit so it's close to max level (you can use plain drinking water for this little top up as it will hardly take 75ml)
