Honda CBR150R
Guys,
From last week some kind of burning smell is coming from the space between handle and side panel. I thought it was some loose contact in electrical connection. Yesterday one of my friend checked the vehicle and he said that the smell is coming from raditor. After that I checked the coolant reservoir and found the level is low. Does anybody faced same problem ???LivE 2 RiDE ....

Dear xpolice
can you please tell us the reason why has B2W been banned ? B2W is one of the active member in this thread. non CBR owners started to make some bullshit comment about our bike. so he defended since he loves his bike. that too in 150R ownership thread which is dedicated for 150R owners. i do agree he used some harsh words of other bikes because non CBR owners tempted him to talk in that way...

I request you to track back and re-read the thread. B2W started the bullshit comment about street racing. When confronted with facts, there was more bullshit about autorickshaws and 5 spark plugs.Originally posted by Alwin Raj View PostDear xpolice

If he is so interested in sharing his ownership experience with you, he will be back with a different name AND he will avoid such behaviour in the future if he doesn't want to get banned again.
I hope your queries have been addressed. Thank you for your co-operation.

Xbhp Police...Thats kind of new...I have seen moderators but first time I'm seeing Xbhp police...Anyway well done for your timely interference, though I felt a first time warning would have been better than banning..Anyway you know the rules better & I hope you have done the right job...
Well it seems like this thread is the most controversial thread in Xbhp
Right from the start its R15 guys maligning the thread & it was blocked a couple of times deleted some posts & now its P200NS to haunt...
Get rid of the fan boyism & respect all bikes because at the end of the day there are persons who ride the other bikes & dont hurt their feelings...
I strongly believe Ownership threads should not be used for comparison works..
Well, I'm RTR owner but I do love this bike a lot & I heard they are planning for a street version which will be really awesome..
Now coming to the fact can anyone from bangalore tell me the exact On Road Price of this vehicle & the showroom name...
It will be really helpful...
Thanks & Happy Safe Riding guys...---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dream yuga's switch gear is fit for 150r, it has a pass beam switch & the quality is good but it doesn't have the parking/position lamp switch which means you cannot separately on the parking/position lamps so you have to try to fit the 150r's light button with connection points on yuga's switch gear which is a tedious task, anyways the position lamps will be on when you switch on the head lamp. Other option is to fit LED position lamps & give them direct connection like DRL & they will be always on without any load on battery like the new RTR's & the yuga's switch gear with work fine without any compromise.Originally posted by spknair View PostAny one had changed to 250r's switch gears? & cost?

And the usual question to anybody pointing out any discrepancy is whether he owns a CBR150R or not. I myself am a victim of this kind of attacks including threats from some cowardly CBR150R owners. Hold on yaar..You are the one who triggered one of controversial situation previously in the thread..Originally posted by punarvasu View Post
Dont make another mistake...You dont like their claims just discard it...
That itself will solve many issues...Lets try to respect other's feelings..
Anyway you are not going to buy this bike for sure so why bother about their claims..
I personally don't feel people are that stupid enough to blindly follow whatever is claimed in any thread...
So claims are not going to bring that big impact...
You have chosen your steed & they have theirs..Thats it!!!---------------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S - PGMFI isn't always closed loop.Originally posted by jomindolges View PostHow a person can point out the negatives of a bike without a single test ride ???

Here's a note on it.
Now, coming to the brakes, yes I agree that calling them bad was uncalled for, but I guess the OP was comparing a few bikes and placed CBR at last. He didn't say that they were worst.PGM-Fi operating logic also needs an explanation of what is called the 'open-loop' and 'closed-loop' operating mode for PGM-Fi. Closed-loop means a feedback-loop mode. PGM-Fi works in closed-loop mainly during engine idling. In closed-loop mode, PGM-Fi uses the signal from one critical sensor, the O2 (or sometimes known as lambda) sensor to attempt to attain an ideal air-fuel ratio of 14.7:1 (stoichometric ratio). An O2 sensor operates by measuring the amount of oxygen left in the exhaust gas. The amount of oxygen is a good indicator of the combustion efficiency and a higher oxygen content will suggest a lean condition and vice versa. O2 sensors are normally mounted on the exhaust manifold (or sometimes called the extractors) and/or catalytic converters (for cars equipped with them) and PGM-Fi uses the O2 sensor reading to bump air-fuel ratio up or down until it gets a reading indicating optimum combustion.
So during engine idling, the air-fuel ratio may initially fluctuate up and down based on O2 sensor readings but should eventually settle to a stable value corresponding to the ideal 14.7:1 ratio. PGM-Fi works in closed-loop mode only during idle or very light accelerator openings.
From moderate to maximum throttle openings, PGM-Fi goes into an open-loop mode. In open loop mode, PGM-Fi ignores the O2 sensor signal but will still use the other sensor signals (air temperature and pressure, TPS etc) to make compensations on the base injector opening values. However for very heavy accelerator positions (indicated by large TPS values), PGM-Fi now gives priority to engine RPM, MAP and TPS sensor readings. RPM and MAP sensors will always be required since they are input parameters for reading the fuel-map. But in open-loop mode, PGM-Fi no longer makes as much compensation for other sensor readings, other than TPS sensor, as in closed-loop mode.
When operating in open-loop then, PGM-Fi will usually be operating in a rich-mode. This will be especially true for JDM vehicles when imported directly from Japan into various countries (whether as used or new cars). The PGM-Fi program will have been originally designed based on the atmospheric conditions in Japan and they will almost certainly be different from the countries into which the cars are imported. Even for truly localized line-ups, a rich condition also normally prevail because the PGM-Fi program would have been originally developed to accomodate for the whole country or sometimes even an entire region and thus would again be based on a large base of 'average' values.
After all, it is subjective to a user; right? BTW, I find CBR 150R's brakes more responsive than mine. Maybe due to reduced kerb weight.
And mileage on an FI bike > Carb'd bike under similar riding conditions with the same/similar in weight riders with similar riding styles.
My friend on an R 15 (FI) gets 45 kmpl on highways because he rips it hard. I, on the other hand end up getting 47-48 kmpl. That confuses many people and some even say that I'm not stating true mileage figures for my bike (ZMR). But facts are facts.
Maybe, if you ride the NS in a sane manner you'd end up getting ~40 kmpl. Holds true for all bikes.

That was a useful information. Thanks for it.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View Post

I was in the understanding that closed loop is always closed.
And, now I get what that 'PGM' means.
The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

Thanks for providing a detailed info. about PGM Fi ...
We need posts like this ...
Not like that guy, who is always saying , " "I have 3 sports bikes and my 200cc bike is better than any other machine " ".
I have a doubt that if CBR is the worst bike in his collection, then why he is keeping it with him ...
If that happens to me, I will sell the bike as soon as possible and buy another one ...
I am 99.9% happy with my bike ...Last edited by jomindolges; 02-08-2013, 07:29 PM.LivE 2 RiDE ....
