do you mean at lower rpm and gear's. yes, the initial torque of CBR150R is low even lower then r15 but that's what it is meant to do... its engine is designed to be rev happy... so if you are able to build up rev's quickly you can get a good powerful initial power from cbr also... cbr250R and 150R and entirely different machines in terms of prospect... so comparing them outright wont be fair to anyone of them IMO...Originally posted by vikyk View PostWARNING!! No no u got me wrong its not sluggish in any way..Originally posted by vikyk View PostI felt it sluggish too. Advice is good and very exact, thanks. I am not at all expecting anything like GT - 650R from any of these ones, but expecting little power to go well. I am riding yamaha fazer 150 from last one year also, and i feel it has ok kinda power. On comparison of power cbr 150r really felt low powered than cbr 250r. 250 had some kind of grunt and push me more feeling, which was nowhere in 150.
Dont dishearten me please, i was expecting after first service bike will respond better. Bike at TD completed only 8kms till the time i rode it.
all the power lies on the higher side of the rev range..
Bikes like fazer, rtr, pulsars have their power available
on the lower and mid range of rev band they lose breath
near the top end.. but on bikes like r15 and cbr 150 thats
where the fun starts.. Revv it hard watch the fun..
beyond 6000rpm it becomes a growly monster from a tame machineLife is an Open Road For me..

Yes exactly in lower RPM and gears i didn't get a feel of push. Not comparing them, just looking out for right thing for me which can make me happy little bit in all ways as looks, mileage and speed.Originally posted by siddharth_ZMR View Postdo you mean at lower rpm and gear's. yes, the initial torque of CBR150R is low even lower then r15 but that's what it is meant to do... its engine is designed to be rev happy... so if you are able to build up rev's quickly you can get a good powerful initial power from cbr also... cbr250R and 150R and entirely different machines in terms of prospect... so comparing them outright wont be fair to anyone of them IMO...
I see, your this reply made me think more positive about power of 150r. I guess i am inclining towards it now more.Originally posted by catchdebanjan View PostNo no u got me wrong its not sluggish in any way..

I kinda felt the same way you did with the bike's performance. but then I found u just rev it up a bit and u can have a lotta fun there...
But, keep in mind ur downgrading from the gt 650r, u may not be able to appreciate cbr 's power but u can certainly admire its handling and praticality vis vis ur old machineLife is an Open Road For me..

Ah, why india do not get such things first. Seems like thailand is more advanced and bigger country than indiaOriginally posted by catchdebanjan View PostU hav to get it from thailand to get this color... Even I wanted this color no luck there and I took white red instead..

. When they will launch this one in india, i will just get few body parts changed that time to get this color. I am also interested in red white.
I really do not appreciate anything easily. I never found GT also as right bike in lots of things and i still believe bike is not worth. But indeed i have to settle somewhere, until i do not get a R1 or CBR 1000rr for fun. So just want to manage with something that can keep the rider in me bit satisfied

Everyday the dealer says u ll get ur papers tommorow.. but tommorow as they say never comesOriginally posted by Super_SBK View PostHi,catchdebanjan
whats the status of ur bikes reg.And how many km u r able to put on odo and hows bike is performing
I have put 150kms on odo
However, I do like the way the bike behaves... The way it pulls once the revs are past 6000 is amazing
I love its hassle free handling whether on the open road or bumper to bumper traffic..Life is an Open Road For me..

Sudhir, probably people must have asked you same number of times here but can you please tell me how much difference you felt in CBR 150 and unicorn (i saw in your profile, that you owned a unicorn in past)Originally posted by Sudhir88 View PostIts sad that you haven't got it registered yet

I have my baby CBR, back with me after its brief stint at the HMSI ASC, for a week. The radiator fan assembly was finally replaced with one, from another bike, as HMSI , is yet to ship the spares to the dealer
. I had some tough time, getting the work done, it was queer enough to note that HMSI did not bother to respond to my repeated mails, however they did take up the matter with the dealer directly. I do have a word of appreciation for the dealer Saphire Honda though, they were courteous enough to take up the issue proactively and got it resolved after some negligible delay. The service manager Mr. Hussain, did his best, and had the problem resolved, also the proprietor of Saphire Honda, apologized for all the problem that i had to face, and assured of proper service, which will really go a long way in reinforcing my confidence in Honda's service support. It has been 4 days since i have got the bike, and it has been performing pretty well now. Also i got the first service done and hence tried touching the 8K limit on the RPM meter, and observe that as stated in many posts above the characteristics of the bike completely change after crossing the 6K mark, it changes from the just another bike feel to that of a rocket on wheels
. Also the only similarities between the unicorn and the baby fireblade, is that both are from Honda, and both have a 150cc displacement, else the baby fireblade, is a class apart. I can vouch for this as i own both the bikes.

You are asking difference in terms of?? ..Of course there is lot of difference between them cause unicorn is commuter and CBR150r is allrounder. Totally different feeling, it wont feel like unicorn in any wayOriginally posted by vikyk View PostSudhir, probably people must have asked you same number of times here but can you please tell me how much difference you felt in CBR 150 and unicorn (i saw in your profile, that you owned a unicorn in past)
Note: You should learn to drive CBR150R in a specific way, to get what you want.. Rev it hard, it will make you smile..
In traffic ---> I am driving daily from Villivakkam-MEPZ (around 75km) in city traffic.. Very good handling, confident brakes and much satisfied driving in traffic
Changing lane is ease.. If you really get used to cbr, you don't have to shift gears frequently 1st gear goes up to 15km-22km ..2nd gear upto 33km 3rd gear upto 47km(these are approx figures).. mostly will be shifting from 2 nd to 3rd vice verse unless i stop in a signal ..
Most of the reviews/TD claims that frequent gear shifting in city traffic..
I have a question--> In city traffic, how can anyone drive without frequent gear shifting??
In chennai traffic, i am unable to cross 40kmp.i have to shift gears frequently either with unicorn/cbr or with any other bike!! ..
I am getting around 46kmpl if my calculations are correct
you can take it as 40+ kmpl

Although you explained a lot and its really nice to hear about exact things i wanted to know. As in comparison, just wanted to know, if you still feel like riding a 150 cc normal bike (unicorn here) under low rpms or get a feel of push me more, and small superbike while riding this.Originally posted by Sudhir88 View PostYou are asking difference in terms of?? ..Of course there is lot of difference between them cause unicorn is commuter and CBR150r is allrounder.
Great news bro, congrtulations. And would like to ask same question from you as i asked from sudhir above. I hope you also have enough experiencing of riding a 150cc before CBR.Originally posted by saishankarpatra View PostI have my baby CBR, back with me after its brief stint at the HMSI ASC, for a week. Pickup is better. Ya under lower rpm its normal 150cc. It will always ask you to rev it hard and i always have a feeling,"This is my SBK"Originally posted by vikyk View PostAlthough you explained a lot and its really nice to hear about exact things i wanted to know. Bikes like cbr150r and r15 are biased towards handling and dynamics. best part is they are extremely forgiving and allow to do sport riding with utmost ease. thats why they are more expensive than other 150s. but after all they are 150 cc. they do offer more shove than other 150s because of latest tech power plants but overall impression will be similar. I once rode my friends fazer back to back with my r15 and felt marginal difference in power.Originally posted by vikyk View PostAlthough you explained a lot and its really nice to hear about exact things i wanted to know. though top speeds and high speed cruising capabilities of both bikes are much higher than other 150cc bikes.Last edited by VaibhavPisal; 05-17-2012, 12:56 PM.
