Test Ride
Did a test ride on the Baby CBR last saturday in MPL honda mandaveli (chennai)...
Quite unhappy with the over all feel about the bike.. May be because of the following reasons
1) I had over expectation
2) That showroom guy allowed me ride a small street wherein i cudn't go beyond 3rd gear.
I dont know much about bikes, like the Torque, power, RPM blah blah. but i felt i was riding a unicorn with a bent back.. Even Apache gave a lot of excitement to me..
I have almost decided to buy this bike last week, but after this test ride i think i need to give a second thought..
Guys... please try to solve the misunderstanding between me and the Baby CBR
.. I want her

Try CBR250R. it certainly won't feel like Unicorn. (I have ridden it). If it is out of budget, try duke 200. It will give most excitement. You have to accept fact that Honda make bikes like this. They are smooth, refined. they eventually grow on you for their hassle free nature.Originally posted by danielmanickaraj View PostDid a test ride on the Baby CBR last saturday in MPL honda mandaveli (chennai)...

I own R15 v2 and this will be the same feeling even if u ride an R15.
The reason is simple. Bikes like R15 and CBR 150R are meant to be revved hard and they wake up after 7500 rpm.
Below that you will be feeling like just an unicorn.
But this is not the case of apache which is a low torque engine.
Apache pulls heavily below 5000 rpm and hardly fails the top at higher rpms.
In case of R15, you will feel like someone is pushing you from behind past 7500 rpm, and I believe the same to be with CBR.
Take a test drive once more and go beyond 8000rpm right from 2nd gear and i hope you will love her performance.

I agree completely.. these bikes deliver their punch only after being revved hard...Originally posted by gklc811 View PostHi daniel,

Rev high in each gear and at arnd 6.5 - 7k rpm shift to 6th gear
and watch the bike transform into a rocket I will steadily build
speeds climing from 80kmph right upto its top speed.Life is an Open Road For me..

+1
.
I own a R15 V 2.0 and I too have the same feelings ( But i have not ridden Unicorn ,it makes me feel that the bike not have the 150 cc engine power on low RPM's ) . When i start from the signal point all other short/middle geared bikes and moppets leads me first . I too wondering , is something wrong with my bike or with my riding style . Still my bike is in run-in period , completed 495 km's on odo , i can't exceed 5 k RPM mark
@ Daniel
Hello Daneil . The fuel efficiency drops , when you rev your bike ( It doesn't mater whether it is carburator or Fuel injection ) . By revving hard it tends the engine to overheat where the Radiator Fan will take care of overheating issues . !
PS- And by revving hard it may or may not damage your engine , Even I'm not sure about this !Last edited by [IN]BeTrayedxD; 05-14-2012, 09:35 PM.Always Ride with Complete Riding Gears and Don't Violate the Speed Limits

Congrats on your new Booking !
I don't want to mess up with you here for what made you to change .Originally posted by joel_sherly View Postcancelled my booking of cbr150r and booked ktm duke. quite happy with my decision:-)
But , I'm very much happy with your decision than you
( I don't want to elaborate here , so that all Owners/Non owners will come and start fighting against me ) .
" KTM 200 is also a super naked BIKE " .
Last but not the least . What ever bike you choose from different manufacturer's . It is better to take at least '3' test drives and communicate with respective bike owner's to know the Pro's/Con's of your desired bike and then choose which bike will perfectly suits you !Last edited by [IN]BeTrayedxD; 05-14-2012, 09:44 PM.Always Ride with Complete Riding Gears and Don't Violate the Speed Limits

Alll time revving hard after the run in no way affects the engine, because they are designed for that. ( But dont accelerate hard when the engine is cold).
The mileage will drop significantly by max of 5 kms /lit.
Thats the beuty of Fuel Injected bikes.
Mileage never drops a lot under hard revving and it also doesnt improve a lot on soft riding.
My bike R15 v2 under soft riding gives me 43 kmpl , under hard revving gives me 36kmpl.

Back again here, after looooooonnnnnng time and enough quarrel last time
Need advice from owners of cbr 150/250 and pros, as i am interested in buying one of these bikes for city commuting and for highway rides once or twice in a month maximum. To make you people understand more my state of mind and expectations, here is little history about my riding experience in past one year.
Well, i am back to basics actually as i booked cbr250r when it was launched, waited for a month or so for delivery. After initial bad reports, canceled it and bought Hyosung GT-650 R. Because of worst experience with its handling and its service center, sold it in 5 months. I test ride both cbr's today and what i felt is:
- CBR 150 is too under powered but looks better than CBR 250 in terms of colors and styling. Mileage is too good.( I ride/drive just 20 kms maximum under good enough traffic on normal working days).
- CBR 250 is better in power but looks disproportionate, and colors are really not good. Mileage is low.
- P.S: I dont like any other bike around except these two.
What i need actually:
A good looking fully faired bike, with ok kinda power that can beat/compete other bikes when i am in mood of riding wild, and having a mileage close to 40-45 kmpl.
What you people suggest to me?
And all the views i expressed about any bike, are solely mine and kindly do not attack me for those.
"Pain is temporary , pride is forever"
