  • I am very satisfied with pillion seat of the cbr 150.
However, i havent gone on long rides. Anyone done
long rides with pillion.. After all one of my prime reasons
for buying the bike was the pillion seat :P

Thanks vaibhav for considering my question ( just got one answer yet )

I love both. Cornering and riding at high speeds. Usually i will take it on roads having enough traffic pressure, where you can't attain speed more than 60 kmph , even on higher cc bike like GT 650 R.

DO you own a cbr 150R, don't you feel its pick up is too low and expecting a zoooommm thing from it is useless?

It was the moly coating on Piston on the Inlet side that came off,and touched the bore....still you rode home ,and could do above 80~90 Kmph....

Actually maintained 105 to 110 with my Wife on account of the engine stopping again, otherwise, the vehicle could've done even better

yea I would consider youradvice bro. the only problems I heard of in duke is oil leakage and over heating. I seriously followed the threads and after much thought changed from cbr150r to duke.

bro i think in DiASil engine the cylinder and piston is made of cast metal of Al and Si and not coated with it ,was introduced first by yamaha in 2002 (and this info is sourced from google baba );P

Thanks for considering my advice and if u have decided about duke then go for it ,its a great bike, and yes it will fry ur legs as it is a 200cc mill and during runing in it will surely overheat so its not a problem.

I was wrong to use the term DIASIL which is more of Yamaha specific term; PSR Ji is right on the word, its called "molybdenum coating". Pls refer to the following article for more on this - http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/model_eval...rCBR250Imp.pdf

Why would a 200cc mill fry anyone legs? IMHO - The heat is way much more bearable...

My friend has just got delivery of 150r but is in run in right now. So can't comment with surity. But yes it will feel sluggish compared to gt650r, so will 250 I guess. But a piece of advice ' lower the capacity, better the commuter', both for mileage and tight traffic. Another one ' higher the capacity, better weekend ride'. 150 does have sporty suspensions, easier and fast to tip in etc. Zoooommm is based on perception. Someone upgrading from splendor will find it enough. It will be downgrade from gt650r for sure. Unless you plan to go absolutely rossi on it and make use of all handling potential there is.

aptly said.. no point comparing it or expecting the same kinda feel as the gt650r but, then when revved a bit it does give fair amount of performance..

However, upto 6k rpm feels pretty much like a regular 150cc

I felt it sluggish too. Advice is good and very exact, thanks. I am not at all expecting anything like GT - 650R from any of these ones, but expecting little power to go well. I am riding yamaha fazer 150 from last one year also, and i feel it has ok kinda power. On comparison of power cbr 150r really felt low powered than cbr 250r. 250 had some kind of grunt and push me more feeling, which was nowhere in 150.

Dont dishearten me please, i was expecting after first service bike will respond better. Bike at TD completed only 8kms till the time i rode it.

u got me wrong or i was not able to express my views, all i mean to say that in duke ur legs are more prone to heat then any other bike i am saying this because i have ridden my friends duke for a short spin and it almost fried my legs and may be u can bear that heat.
And please can we stop OTs and let it be CBR150r ownership thread .thank you
