  • Went to the nearest Honda Showroom today & boy-oh-boy the 150R is a looker for sure.
Saw NO quality issues as such, just loved the bike. Oh I wish I had the moolah to buy it today itself (decided to go for this bike in the future though). Just loved it, though I was a bit worried about the lack of kill switch & pass switch but heck who cares when the bike is as good as the 150R.

    Loved it

For who are worried about the absence of the pass switch... You can use the low beam as the DRL (like Ninja 250R) & use the hi/lo beam selector to indicate a 'pass'.

    • Guys i have some questions..

I am riding with pillion(my mom), I drove about 20km with her..(we both wil make it around 130kg + )

1.when i returned home, ENGINE is really hot, is that normal?.. but the TEMPERATURE indicator is normal in ODO..
      2. I hear TUCK TUCK sound when i shift gears?? .. i read in review that gear shifting is butter smooth? is this happening only to me?..
what should i do to overcome it?

      My Experience so far :

Of-course i miss PASS SWITCH during night (Thing is, no one is gonna give me way to over-take even when i blink the lights,HORN continuously is the only way in CHENNAI to get space to overtake.. Fact ).. i didn't mention about Kill Switch because i was driving unicorn from 2004, i never had one though, so i couldn't comment on that.. .. but i noticed when u turn on the ignition key, within few sec bike is ready to start really quick..

Once i started driving the bike, i wasn't bothered about anything..
RIDING experience made me to forget everything.. WOW.. Decent seating position & comfort, smooth engine, confident braking, excellent handling .. i reached 70kmp in 4th gear .. i really enjoyed the ride ..

Why no owners didn't find out that there is DRL in CBR 150R

He is the one who is posting only the minuses of the bike. No owner can withstand bcoz he points out always the cons.
My decision was to keep away from here as I am not an owner of this bike but I am being pulled to this thread again and hence this posting.

I noticed this bike because it is the costliest 150 cc bike here and the arguments between us started when one of us claimed to have reached 126 kmh at 8500 RPM. Then I checked its gear ratios and found that even Hayabusa, Aprilia RSV4 R or any other bike cannot reach that speed with the gear ratios of CBR150R even if a 1000 or more bhp engine is fitted on it.

Then came the comparison of its speed with other bikes. I still say it cannot overtake R15 and GS150R before these 150 cc bikes redlines. The gear modification may perhaps give it a slight upper hand over FZ16 in racing tracks, but, considering the torque, not sure about what happens in open roads because, as you know, frequent down shifting is needed for a bike with low torque when facing steepness.

High bhp and low torque is enough and a plus point to racing bike as the tracks are plane but for a commuter or tourer bike, it surely is a negative point as the roads are not plane as the tracks and a slight steepness demands a downshifting. Most of us are not buying bike for racing purpose.

May be because the bikes I am using are Suzuki Fiero and GS150R, the crouching riding posture mainly due to the low position of the narrow handle bar is not comfortable to me and I fear it is not suitable for anyone for long distance rides.

Instead of blaming me for pointing out some truths about this highly priced bike, try to prove that what I said is incorrect and, with a calm mind, try to understand what this bike is. Riding around the house for 5 minutes at below 50 kmh speed or going for a TD for 1 km or quoting the hearsays is not enough for it.

          Please cool down.

            • I wouldn't disagree if that's on the speedo. one of my friend who actually took his delivery of the R15 with me (same day) had met 3 accidents, while I had none, had missed 2 services while I had missed none, weighed 5 kg more than me and was riding a straight road when he touched 151 and I was on the slope when I touched 147kmph

just want to point out that no 2 bikes are exactly the same and nor the speedos the error may range from one to the other.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Ok buddy R15 and Your GS150R are the best bikes in the 150cc segment
(if you think r15, GS150R and CBR 150R are in the same segment)
                Happy now..

                  • I dont know why are people hell bent on spoiling this thread..

If you take a look at the KTM DUKE Thread owners and non owners are
discussing the bikes even the issues they are facing and yet no one is
trying to tear down the bike or is taking potshots

Same goes for the R15 V2.0 thread..

WE need no haters here please spare us...

I insist to all the owners please ignore the super skeptics
                    and fanboys

                      1. Engine is still in run in expect it to get hot and esp. in city traffic
                      2. I think u are short shifting, the bike has really tall gears
If you reduce speed suddenly (consequently RPM) remember to downshift.. Dont worry its just a different set up and when you get used
to it .. U 'll be able to enjoy the butter smooth gearbox.

Enjoy your rides and keep us posted.. and I will keep patience until my
                      registration is done

Now I am doubting that some manufacturers are purposively fitting faulty speedometers to cheat the teenage bikers. Otherwise, why is a speedometer showing about 25% more than the actual speed?

Then it cannot not reach 160 kmh.
I never said it can reach 160 Kmph and no one has attacked you rather you are attacking everyone and showing off arrogance.. I m telling you

I think the main reason is that CBR150R’s engine is short stroke (63.5 x 47.2), aiming high bhp than torque which is a plus point for track bikes.

It is normal and is common in every short stroke bike. The click sound too is normal and there is no silent butter smooth gear shifting in any bike.
