Many overseas bike enthusiasts actually prefer the exhaust to change color with time. They wear it like a badge.. for them it adds to the looks of the bike.. as it makes the bike look like it's getting ridden..!!Originally posted by danyboy13 View PostGrt choice ...............Even i had the same dilemma but now going for cbr150r

One such example:

Any new big bore performance engine heats up during the running in phase. My Pulsar 220 used to heat up during the intitial Kms.

Thanks for ur awesome review man.. all auto mags have given this bike a miss for some strange reason.. Anyway urs is nothing short of a pro review though..Originally posted by Killer View PostTested the CBR150R at the kari track this past weekend. Typical honda...smooth bike, excellent handler and if ridden hard it has some serious potential. In the end it turned out to be actually quicker than a R15 around the kari track.
The bike is about 1 sec a lap faster than r15, but theres a catch. It has to be ridden a certain way to extract the lap time. torque is lower than the r15 so it needs to be ridden hard and above 10k rpm to perform, this isnt very hard as the rpms wont drop too quickly. Tires are a bit of a downer in my opinion, its running the MRF zapper-q's at the rear and zapper variant in front. Those are big n heavy. I'm sure performance can be improved with better tires. Handling though not as aggressive as the r15, is very predictable and confidence inspiring.
The shorter higher reving DOHC motor (than the r15) is a gem, it allows you to really abuse the motor. But its the whole package that makes this bike fast, its just a very easy bike to ride. The tire profile is more old school and doesnt have a v-profile like the r15, because of this it leans in very progressively and doesnt require much experience to exploit the handling. First time out, you wont feel like its faster, it just feels refined and makes you think you're going slower, but then thats just like honda
I m still struggling to get my bike registered with Local RTO..
Still no luck.. it seems my cbr will grow old in my garageLife is an Open Road For me..

By saying that I managed to hit 146 kmph, I was actually trying to say that the bike is real fast. I am a die -hard Yamaha fan, but this bike deserve respect.Originally posted by [IN]BeTrayedxD View PostSounds cool & nice to hear this from a R15 V 2.0 owner . And you say you managed to hit 146 km/hr ( it may be speedo error ) . Why i say this because all BIKES which crosses 120 km/hr , there will be Speedo error ( R15 , P220 . ZMR , CBR 250 r , Ninja 250 r and so on .......... ) So to check the true top speed for any bike we should use a GPS
According to me - Honda Engine Revs Faster than Yamaha Engine . I have some questions regarding R15 V 2.0 , i don't want to mess up here So i will PM you .
Cheers S.V.Prasad
The bike has unfortunately gained some negative publicity because of low torque figure and absence of pass/engine on-off switch.
But hop in and see how this bike flies. The bike is as stable as R15, and is whole lot faster.
Joel was very optimistic about this bike and has told me long before that this bike will be a real deal.
As far as which bike revs faster, I believe Joel and Killer is the right person to answer

I can understand that. It must be cause Honda's typically don't emit that high rev howl that yamaha or some european brands offer. I believe that is soul of the bike and should influence purchase decision. rest components are assembles around that soul of the bike. Choose if you prefer calm and composed honda or maniacal crazy yamaha.Originally posted by Killer View Post

Neo brother,Just like you I was riding RC modded v1.0 which I had to sell, due to some financial reason. I was waiting for a decent bike which according to me has finally arrived. I will buy this bike after two monthsOriginally posted by neoakshay View Post
Negatives according to me:- Switchgear - Although the switchgear works well, it is a little disappointing to find stuff from bikes a category or two below (read Stunner/Shine)
- Lack of an Engine Kill switch and a Headlight Flasher
- The speedo console looks like a shrunken-down version of the one on the 250R and looks decidedly lower quality.
As far as Switch gear is concerned, I would rather import it from Thailand

Have you seen better switchgear available in Thailand? I know it can be changed, but an engine kill switch wouldnt be installable IMO..

I read it in a review, new engine will have some particles inside, it is good to change the Engine oil at 50km?? is it true?.. Will it help to increase engine performance? . I am palnning to change engine oil at 1. 50kmp, 2. 300km and 3. 750km(1st service).. will it affect engine performance?

Hi sudhir, change the engine oil at 150-200kms on odo and next in the 1st service.Originally posted by Sudhir88 View PostI read it in a review, new engine will have some particles inside, it is good to change the Engine oil at 50km?? is it true?.. New engine takes time to settle and with the change in oil the particles comes out which is good for the engine

I have a question for you.. make that two.Originally posted by catchdebanjan View PostI would like to hear more from fellow owners and of course like to answer any questions directed at me.
- In 6th gear, at what rpm does the bike do 60kmph, 80kmph and 100kmph respectively?
- According to you, what is the highest cruising speed you can maintain on the bike? (Highest speed on 6th gear where the engine feels relaxed and not stressed)

The dilemma of 'Engine Break-in'
Changing the engine-oil in a new engine will help clear out any metal particles that will otherwise circulate in the engine. It's recommended, though not compulsory. Why else would manufacturers mention 1st service at 1000km?
And all bikes have oil-filters, what do you think those are for?
