Re: Issue on first gear in classic 350
Do you feel any jerks even while shifting gears on a running engine? >> If yes then 1) get clutch cable play checked 2) If play is alright then you may have got sticky clutch plates, you will have to get the bike checked by a technician.Originally posted by Subham_123 View PostI bought royal Enfield 350 classic in March this year. I changed the engine oil by a local mechanic few weeks back. And since then, when I start the bike on 1st gear, the bike moves forward, as If the gear isn't functioning properly. Also in 1st gear, in ignition off mode if I push the bike, it seems as if it's getting stuck somewhere and making it impossible to move... After few efforts I am able to move the bike. Then it becomes free but at first it seems to be tight somehow on first gear. Not sure If the clutch wire is not right or whether the engine Oil needs to be reduced. Please help

If your bike faces the symptoms only when the engine is Shut down and 'Bike feeling Stuck' situation varies with the clutch pressed/released then its definitely a badly adjusted clutch cable issue.
BTW if your bike is under warranty then what was the reason behind approaching a local mechanic? (just curious)

No issues with Ground clearance unless the pillion+rider weight is too much for the suspension to bear/Tyres under inflated.Originally posted by ram@13 View PostHello guys....
Are you guys facing any issues with ground clearance of classic 350.. is that sufficient....
And i came to know that there is no fuel indicator and we need to identify through reserve indicator only? Is that true...

Definitely some thing with the entire electrical system, some loose or exposed cable joint or anything like that.Originally posted by Sp!tfire View PostI own a 2014 Classic 350 and I am facing an issue in what seems to be an electrical issue. I changed to a new battery about 6 months back and all was good until about two weeks back when the self start stopped working. The Neutral light blinks when self start button is operated but the bike doesn't crank. I initially suspected it to be due to a weak battery but the battery voltage showed it to be in healthy condition upon which i got the wiring checked. The service centre said the relay has gone bad and needs a change. I promptly opted for the change however it didn't end the problems there. The self start problem still persists when the bike remains idle for hours and during night time the headlight and all other lights flicker a lot indicating an electrical issue. The engine too stops while in motion once in a while. Can anyone point me what could be the issue as everyone in the last few days right from the battery vendor to service centre seem to pass on the blame to each other :|
.
If you feel the service centre is passing the blame over to the Battery, then simply ask them to fit a loaner battery to test their theory/explanation on the spot.

Hope your doubts about the insurance policy, were clarified to your satisfaction by the showroom (and that you got the best quote from them).Originally posted by akashsuryawanshi View PostI have booked bike....
Delivery is scheduled on 30 September
Other than that, PDI section will give you more info about things to look out for during vehicle delivery, as most of the paper work happens at that time. During booking, the only thing they will note down is personal info like, name, address, etc. Once delivered, do go through the instruction manual to check out the Running In info.

Re: Issue on first gear in classic 350
Learnt somewhere that clutch plates become sticky if the bike is parked for a longer duration or in cold weather. So the first thing I do before starting the bike if its parked more than 4 hours is to fully press the clutch and kick it until I feel the clutch plates are free. You can feel that getting freed up.Originally posted by Subham_123 View PostI bought royal Enfield 350 classic in March this year. I changed the engine oil by a local mechanic few weeks back. Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
Hey Guys,
I am facing an odd issue with my Classic 350. My bike is 2010 model and about a year back, the acceleration and pickup had gone for a toss, the culprit for this was a worn out carburetor, which I replaced with a new one and boom! the bike was back on track.
Now again recently, similar issue but this time, the pickup is good, its only after reaching speeds of 70 or 80 the bike does not accelerate further. I have a very good mechanic in Kurla, Mumbai however he is not able to figure this out. Did somebody had similar issues and had found the problem and rectified it..would be great if someone can recommend or guide on this.Cheers!
