Your right. Today morning, just out of curiosity I started the tb and the sound was gone! Kind of baffling though. Feeling good now.
Seat is not a big issue. I am accustomed to my bullet seat which is quite different from the tb 500, so will have to use her more often to get used to it.
    Thanks and happy thumping:thumbup:

Ever since I watched Naagarahaavu [1972 - Kannada], which was shot extensively in the Chitradurga Fort, I wanted to visit this historical place. Many times, we had passed through Chitradurga without even stopping. That's the irony of life! We visit many far away, exotic locations; but we ignore the important nearby places.

Yesterday, I and my Blue Bird were hectic. We rode from Basaveswara Nagar home to Chitradurga Fort, and then, to Vani Vilasa Sagara Dam, before returning home. We left at 5:20 am in the morning and reached New Mysore Cafe, Chitradurga at 8:30 am. After sumptuous breakfast, I entered the fort at 9:15 am. The cloudy weather was very helpful in trekking around 5 km with many ups and downs with the fort. Finally, after witnessing 'Kothi' Rama- who is a popular person in Chitradurga - climbing a steep rock with bare hands, I came out of the fort after 3 hours at 12:15 pm.

From Chitradurga Fort, I rode straight to Vani Vilasa Sagara Dam, constructed by Mysore Maharajas. My MapMyIndia navigator guided me and my Blue Bird perfectly to the spot. I climbed the dam from the right bank, walked on the dam top from the right bank to the left bank, clicked many photographs and left by 2:20 pm for homeward journey. I stopped at Kamat Upachar at Sira bypass for late lunch. I reached home by 6 pm after my Blue Bird had tankful at the nearby HP COCOO. My Blue Bird displayed all the 7 bars on the fuel gauge after tankful for the first time after replacement of a faulty float.

all I want is good decent thump without impacting the engine performance, but I am ready to take hit on mileage ? can anyone advice on this please
Hey friend you can safely change the silencer. Absolutely nothing to worry, only thing is don't install a complete free flow one, else anything else is fine as per your taste. I would suggest get a short bottle Indori for nearly CI bullet like thump. I have changed three silencers till now and there would be no change in performance and most of the times no change in mileage either

I suggest quote for making the person understand that you have been asked

Well glasswool silencers are not completely free flow and you can install them no issues.

Need help to choose a good silencer for my tb500. I don't want the upswept or goldie. Any other options? Wild boar?
And I don't want to fry my valves and lessen the average?
Have completed 500kms and hoin for the 1st free service? What should I keep in mind?

Go for short bottle Indori silencer. Absolutely gorgeous thump. Thump characteristic similar to CI bullet thump but a little less louder and distinct than CI (off-course you cannot replicate exact thump like CI). Also until and unless you are not using completely free flow silencer there would be no damage to the valves and no change in mileage. Moreover even if you use completely free flow but still presence of cat-con in the bent pipe would never allow a complete free flow path.

Wild boar sounds good but looks so bulky and out of place. It doesn't compliment the Bull. You need more inputs let me know as I have been the serious victim of Bullet sound bug

Does the short bottle fit the new tb 500. The mechanic told me only the upswept or the goldie fit in without any alterations. Do you have a pic of the indori silencer?

Yes it fits. Right now don't have the pic but would share with you. Go to the Sandhya motors on JC Road and you would get the Indori for 1200 rs. Sandhya is authorized dealer for RE since last 40 yrs and so. Also Indori is not free flow and had three baffles in zig-zag fashion.

Hahaha....yes its true that the sound bug is abig factor for a person going for the bullet. Now that uce has come up with left side gearing it has definitely become a rage. It wasn't the case previously with the right sided gearing of the ci. Anyways happy thumping:thumbup:

Yah I know hard-core Bullet fans were so upset with the change of gear side and they had protested it as well.. Still many CI guys sees the new bullets with utter dis-respect .. Haa haa . RE guys are very emotional
