I have heard it, heard it from really close and from some distance many times. Loud and very bassy thump, not like typical RE thump but very bassy and loud. But personally I just hate it's look, so bulky. Sorry personal opinion.

Even I hate the looks. Just wanted to know how it sounded. Don't want anything too loud to wake the neighbours
But what Is the impact on the engine, mileage and performance? I am getting a very satifactory average from my tb500 and don't want it to drop.

Performance vise there won't be any impact but mileage may or may not drop by max 1 or 2. Btw how much mileage are you getting?

No idea friend but heard that the efi gives good economy compared to carbs. Yet to calculate the mileage

Today while leaning on right side on sharp L turn, the leg guard of scrapped the tarmac! I thought it was the silencer or the footrest but knelt down and saw the guard was 'bruised.' Was kind of shocked.

Made my tank full the other day and saw the reading on the pump, 11.5 litres amounting to some rs710. Before that it had around 7 litres. Is it a 20 litre tank or something less? Manual says 19litres.

Anyway, cruiser we have to generally ride upright, long & straight with no sharp turns & knee scraping

Even I have once or twice hit the underbelly, possibly the central stand, on (always non-uniformed in Mumbai ) speed breakers when riding with pillion and/or taking it a little fast in 2nd gear. Now, I take it as slow as possible & generally even come down to 1st gear.
Its the thunderbird specific guard according to ASC, which they themselves fitted at the time of purchase. Its powder coated. I use stainless steel on my std 350 because of salinity in the air and the most corroding doggy pee

And any idea why the front wheel size is 19inch and rear 18inch?

For faster rolling at rear and more traction at front. Though, i torque would've been better with bigger rear, as (Torque = Force x radius).

My friend bought a new Silver Classic 350 a week ago and i went to test it out. When i started the motor, i felt that the bike started with greater ease compared to my TBTS-500. I think i might not have taken more than .5-1 crank to start up, while it takes a bit longer on my 500. Is this normal or something to get checked out?

Also, till date (2 months of ownership) i have not been able to start up the 500 using kick start ... Dunno if my technique is wrong or some problem is there.

                            Please help

The torque will increase with decrease in the rear rim size. i.e. more for 18" rim than 19" rim. The top speed would be a shade less in case of 18" than 19" rim.

I think it is wrong. Torque= forceXperpendicular distance from the axis of rotation. So basically here axis of rotation is the center of the wheel and force is applied by the drive chain, so decrease in rim size would not increase the torque. It would affect the accelaration though
