Bangalore To Chennai
Today, my Blue Bird flew back to her nest. We left our Bangalore Basaveswara Nagar home at 4:30 pm and reached our Chennai Royapettah home at 11:30 pm including dinner break of half-hour at Aryaas, Vellore and another 15 minutes at Porur junction due to police checking my baggage and general questioning of where from and where to, thanks to Narendra Modi's visit to Chennai.

Re: ThunderBird 500
To all TB 500 Owners,
I am planning for a ride to Nagaland soon. Hence wanted to know if any one of you have tried fitting a Ladakh Carrier to TB 500, if so please post pics.
Also i have heard that soon TB 500 will get a new improved instrument cluster which will have lesser issues. Please check with your RE Service Center to get you a new one before the warranty. Mine is already on its way.
Regards,
White Knight!Last edited by White Knight; 10-18-2013, 12:02 PM.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Today, my Blue Bird had the third free servicing done at the company service centre at OMR, Chennai after completing 6 months from the date of purchase. I paid
946 towards engine oil and oil filter.
The fuel efficiency recorded for yesterday's Bangalore to Chennai trip was 32.38 kmpl on tankful-to-tankful method.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
HeyJ.Ravi really like the way you describe your journey's. Give me inspiration to write about my experiences too. (Although they are yet to begin) I had taken a stone 500 a month ago and am happy with it.
Wanted to ask you about how your bull has been behaving after the half aniversary? Any problems you have encountered yet?

Guys please check the nuts and bolts of your bike.....noticed a nut missing, of right rear footrest. The footrest and silencer were together on 1 nut bolt. Going to ASC right now and getting it replaced under warranty. And I noticed my steering making some thik thik noise. The serviceguys is pissing me offf. If it wasn't for the tb500 would roughed them up

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Friend is the steering hard? You park the bike on center stand and do you see a catch in the handle bar movement? Park and just tap the handle bar little bit , just a little to either side and see if it moves freely to either end or have a catch. If answer to both the above thing is Yes then get it checked at ASC, may be just that big nut adjustment would do else still issues then press them to check the bearings.. Do not spare those guys, they take us for granted.Originally posted by simao View PostGot the nut replaced under warranty. First they were reluctant but then agreed. Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Friend the steering moves freely end to end but as it reaches the end the noise seems to appear. At the first service I asked them to check the steering cause I found it loose, they said it was loose and tightened it. After that this noise seems to have started appearing.Originally posted by gyan_recl350 View PostFriend is the steering hard? Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Hmm then may be they have tightened it more? If still no luck then why don't you push them to check the bearings and if faulty then get it replaced under warrentyOriginally posted by simao View PostFriend the steering moves freely end to end but as it reaches the end the noise seems to appear. Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
By any chance are you visiting the Bannerghatta RE ASC? If yes then as an advice please do not get your Bull serviced from them ever. Just stay away from them.Originally posted by simao View PostHave to visit them...they are asking me meet the company service manager when he comes. Ofcourse warranty
