that tik tik is nothing but push rods. get it checked. if needed replace them. as newer buls dont have tappet adjustment like old ones. once worn out you replace them with new ones. should cost around 300 bucks for parts.

I will tell the svc during first service. Bute yesterday, i went to svc to tell this and they couldn't hear the noise as engine was running for a long time. So they said they will rectify it during first service. now they adjusted the slow speed.

Completed 3600 kms so far. After the second service, bike is awesome. I dont regret the choice of picking the Tbird over Desert Storm. The comfort is unparalleled, the bike is smooth and riding in traffic is a breeze. I am getting 30 kmpl and knowing the fact that it is 500 cc it brings a smile to my face. I have got the seats redone and there has been a marked improvement of comfort for my rear.

Sometimes I wish my office was 40 kms away so I could ride it a little bit longer.

          Hey Bud,

It's been discussed many times on this forum, that the tic tic noise is nothing to worry about. It tends to come from the hydraulic tappet, and not from the push rods. This usually happens on low rpm, specially when you start the bike after a long time or in the morning after the bike has stood through out the night.
Please don't listen to someone and take conclusive actions. Always take a second opinion.

Guys, what will be the insurance premium for one year old TB 350, i took United India Insurance while purchasing from dealer, now its due for renewal.

I checked with online service providers, price seems to be in higher side. And bike showroom price is crossing 1 lac, hence, they are requesting to visit the branch.

Finally i got my brand new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 on November 25th after a wait of slightly more than a month. I must thank Mr. Rishi Babbar of ASCO Motors, Patparganj, Delhi for putting up with my persistent queries during this waiting period. The dealership experience during bike delivery was binice and staff was helpful and courteous. Took delivery of my bike at 6:30 PM and rode home. Have ridden 78 KMS so far. Here are initial impressions:

                1. Very good pickup ... though have not gone beyond 60 KMPH due to running in period of first 500 KMS
                2. Very stable and comfortable ride.
                3. A head turner on the road. A lot of people driving their cars start to look out of their windows. At time i have a few bikes following my TBTS 500 just to figure out which motorcycle it is.
                4. Braking is a big improvement due to disc brakes both front and rear
                5. Very strong head light in both high and low beam due to projector head lamp
                6. LED lamps in the rear look really stunning during the night
                7. Very nice instrument panel providing a lot of information...hazard light is a nice touch

                Issues faced so far:
                1. Starting using kick has been an issue. Have been told by ASC that this problem will be addressed after first service.
                2. Had a faulty front brake light switch which was promptly saved by ASCO motors.

These are just initial impressions. Will come back with a detailed review and pictures soon.

I haven't done teflon coating for my thunderbird. Is it necessary that i should get it done? Or is it ok if i get some polish and do it myself on the areas where there is paint?
And normal trflon coating will last 3-6 months right?

No. It's a money-making business for the dealers.

Yes. You can DIY using Waxpol or Formula 1 or Meguairs once in 3 months, which is more than sufficient to retain the shine on the painted surface.

No no. I meant 3M products which are available @ certain motorcycle shop. They have wide range of products i guess...including polish. So thought of buying one n do it myself.

Anarchy911, I find the bike riding smoothest at 60 kmph 2300 rpm in 5th gear. The bike is very easy to ride in traffic, but in slow moving bumper to bumper traffic, the weight becomes cumbersome.
