Hello Friends..
Recently I was searching for good replacement of rear shockers for my bike.. OEM shockers was doing decent job but i don't like chrome n wanted something more smooth.. So risked to buy Karizma's rear shockers.. I had an option that if they don't fit on TB500 I can fit them on my 2007 Karizma R which I was restoring..
So removed TB's shockers n fitted new ones.. Height was exactly same which was one great relief.. Then had to swap one rubber bush from bullets shockers n they've fitted superbly.. Now these one look good.. Working too good..
Some snaps..

You should have put the old Karizma Shockabsorbers, they have been serving me for the last 50,000KM without any issues. The gas filled ones which you have fitted don't recoil nicely with more weight.
Since you have already purchased it you might as well use it;-)

Decided to go with the TB500 and made the full payment today. Opted for the lightning color as my near and dear ones also preferred it over the matte finish stone color. I feel that either color looks good, so lightning it was it in the end. Plan to take the delivery tomorrow or on Friday. Thanks to all those who have posted their experiences in this thread, makes it easier to know what can be expected. Special thanks also to J.Ravi and Vivtho for their encouraging comments.

Appreciate recommendation on what would be the safest crashbar make/design for my bike. Last time I picked up the A.G. Star diamond style one for the Classic 500 from Sandhya motors but was not very happy with the shop experience as they were not keen on showing different patterns that they had. Also almost all the guards seemed to be rusting before the sale.

Regards,
Vivek

When did you booked? Or just paid full amount without booking?

drmadhuprasad - I had booked the bike during December last year, so it has been about 2+ months now.

Even I booked on 5th Dec (TB350 though) I am still waiting for the call.:banghead:
I think I should sit in front of showroom.

Waiting times are more for the TB350 compared to the 500 . However, I would recommend that you get in touch with the showroom folks once in a while. They maintain an Excel spreadsheet to track delivery and wait queues. Please check with them and obtain an understanding of where you stand in the line.

I had better sales experience with Yelahanka showroom than the ones in Whitefield and Rajajinagar. Hope it stays the same. HSR enterprises in Rajajinagar and Sai Ram in Whitefield were very very lousy in the sales department. Despite being from Rajajinagar, I opted to book and buy from Yelahanka based Acclaim motors who seem to be more professional.

You can try the store below Sandhya Auto Spares on the ground floor. They also stock RE parts and accessories. Otherwise, you can directly contact the manufacturer, Quality Metal Industries, who will arrange shipping the diamond crash guard to your address.

However, I rode a lot on my Zma with my wife... My wife never really liked the ZMA replacements that I bought - CBR250, Impulse et al. It made me wonder whether I should have replaced my old ZMA with a new one! Think about it! Or, give Ninja 650 / Er 6n a try..
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm strongly considering the n650. Just need to work out the extra bucks.

Thanks J.Ravi. Your enthusiasm and love for life is infecting. This also is what made me consider the Thunderbird 500 moving away from the comfort of cars. Also since we stay in the same neighborhood area hope to run into you sometime.

Regarding the crash guard, are you recommending the diamond pattern or would a butterfly design suit better? Need something which fits the bike without issues and also provides best safety.

The diamond crash guard is suitable for Classics. For Thunderbirds, I prefer the Thunderbird-specific one as it will not hinder the movement of right or left foot for brake or gear operations.

I'm using this too, however I would recommend you to get it welded at the bottom. This would avoid it moving right or left on slightest of impact.
