Re: Help me quoting my RE TBTS 500 for sale
I didnt sell it though, my mum didnt let me to. If i place an ad in OLX or Quikr...my quote for your TBTS will be 1.40L and bargain upto 1.25L max. It is almost a year and half old and the worrying part is it is getting too common now-a-days and re-sale value seems to be dropping down day by day.Originally posted by Night Fury View PostHi thanks for the reply. Breather Tube Replaced
From the past coupla days, Blue Bird's idling rpm crossed 1,250, which was unprecedented. Today, I inspected the breather tube and found that it was ruptured at many places, especially at the bends. So, I rode to Sri Velavan Motors, Anna Salai, Chennai, located 2 km from home and got it replaced at a total cost of ₹ 112. Now, Blue Bird hums at 900 - 1,000 rpm.

Re: idling rpm
No. The photograph shows around 1,700 rpm, which is very high. It should be in the range of 900 - 1,000 for idling. Please get it checked by the service centre asap.Originally posted by tpsan View PostCan you let me know if this is correct idling rpm---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
An RE Thunderbird 500 customised by Eimor Customs. Quite a nifty job even if it ensures that it doesn't at all look like an RE anymore. Check out the pictures -

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Hello All,
I booked RE ThunderBird 500 'Stone' on june 30th. I liked KTM Duke and RE Classic more but being 6' the bike fit was not proper and after test riding ThunderBird it felt more comfortable and looked good too.
This is going to be my first bike. I have few queries and would be glad to get som response.
I am in Bangalore and have booked it from RE showroom at Jayanagr 9th block.
1. Are there any benefits from getting a bike from the showroom rather than the dealer?
2.What accessories should I require and whether to take them from RE showroom or from JC road? (read theer is a good price difference ) and if it's JC road any preferred shop?
3.Which helmet would suit most. My budget being 1.5- 4K? (prefer modular or open face)?
4.What things i should get prior to getting the bike?
5. What pre-checks should i be doing before I am handed over the bike?
6. Any blogs, fb groups, posts dedicated to TBTS 500 which i can look onto?
Thanks you all in advance.
Ashutosh

Sandhya Auto Spares, Behind SBI, JC Road. You may consider Thunderbird-specific crash-guard, preferably Quality brand.or from JC road? Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Hi,
Any idea from where i could get a Windshield for my ride near Delhi/NCR? (I plan to ride from delhi to pune)
I've been to Karol Bagh once but It's a hell lot confusing !!!
Has anybody tried fitting a HID in the projector socket?? The regular throw is quite bad.
Does fitting alloys affect performance anyway? How much would it cost?
Could somebody guide me to any specific shop?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Re: idling rpm
Hello Sir, finally found a way to intract with you. I have read your ownership experience in very detailed and trust me it took two night cover each and every post. Once I was almost gave up idea of owning RE but your post gave me confidence to go for upgrade from Karizma ZMR (exceptional condition only 28K KM run).Originally posted by J.Ravi View PostNo. The photograph shows around 1,700 rpm, which is very high. It should be in the range of 900 - 1,000 for idling. Please get it checked by the service centre asap.
I got Bird on 7th March 2015 and it has cover 2200 KM as of now and did not face much issue except:
1: Idling issue
2: Famous Tik Tik sound..
I reported above issue to my regular service center - Electronics City Motor and they refused to acknowledge the issues and just focused on washing and routine jobs.
1: Idling issue
I shooted an email to RE and they responded in couple of hours with detail of regional service manager. I spoke that guy and fixed appointment about idling issue at Banergatta Brand Service Center. Now they rectified the idling as 850 and told that range should be 850 to 1050.
2: Famous Tik Tik sound..
Now the bike is back to Electronics City Motor for fixing the tik tik sound. This issue has occured because of Cam issue and "Banergatta Brand Service Center" also asked me to get it fixed by them or Electronics City Motor. Once again Electronics City Motor refuse to acknowledge the issue but they were not left with any choice as I had already esclated this to RE.
In this regard, kindly let me know is it okay to let engine part open to adjust cam gear setting? Will there be any adverse affect or any chance they can mess up with factory fitted parts.
Thanks,
Alok

Re: idling rpm
The company-owned service centre at Bannerghatta Road is good as my Thunderbird 500 visited there for replacement of float under warranty. No idea about Electronic City Motors.Originally posted by ertiga_zmr View PostWill there be any adverse affect or any chance they can mess up with factory fitted parts.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
