    Hey,

    Long rides need comfort,

Tb offers most comfort among all REs, and 500cc has fuel injection which will enhance the performance for you, but looking at your previous ownership, i would suggest you take a test drive of continental gt as well.

    • Battery Recharged & Fuel Hose Replaced

Blue Bird started chirping today evening after being in hibernation for 2 months. When I checked B Bird on the day-before-yesterday early morning, the battery was totally dead. So, got it recharged and fitted today morning only to find that petrol started leaking from the junction of the fuel hose and fuel pump outlet, when I turned the ignition on. On close inspection, I found that the fuel hose was cracked at several places. Called Sri Velavan Motors, Chennai, Thousand Lights service centre's breakdown service. Two mechanics visited my home in the afternoon with spare fuel hose and clamps. Since the clamps were good, they replaced only the cracked fuel hose with a new one. In the evening, I rode to and fro Marina Beach. Now, B Bird's health has returned to normalcy.

      • Blue Bird Gets New Exide Bikerz Battery

Now, it is my Blue Bird's turn to get a new Exide Bikerz 12 V 14 AH battery of Oct 2015 make costing ₹ 2,600 at the friendly neighbourhood Mallika Batteries, Royapettah, Chennai, after exchanging the weak OE stock FIAMM Wind battery that served for 2 years and 9 months. Earlier, I used to kick-start B Bird every day as weak battery icon appeared on the screen inspite of recharging it once. The technician had warned that one of the cells was very weak. So, I didn't want to take any more chance and got the battery changed.

          • Sixth Service at Sri Velavan Motors

Although Blue Bird flew less than 3 k km from the last fifth service, it's more than one-and-half years from the last service. So, I handed over the bike yesterday morning to Sri Velavan Motors, Thousand Lights, Chennai after booking in advance. Due to heavy rush and absence of mechanics, I got Blue Bird back today only. Both the engine oil and fork oil were replaced.

On Saturday [23 Jan 2016] evening, while riding towards, Vadapalani, Chennai, I noticed that both the speedometer and the odometer were not working. All others in the instrument cluster were found working. I tried in vain by adjusting, tightening, pressing various components starting from the speed sensor, the cable, the plug and the connector below the instrument cluster. First, I thought, it might be due to some water ingress during pressure-washing. Yesterday also, they didn't work. So, I took Blue Bird to Sri Velavan Motors today morning at 9 am. B Bird was attended to immediately. I was told that the cable got cut. But, the cable alone won't be available separately as it comes with the speed sensor assembly, costing ₹ 841. After my consent, they were replaced. The only consolation was, no labour charge.

Guys is the tank really 20 ltr? Have anyone filled up that much petrol anytime. In my case the tank fills up to the brim in 16-17 ltr.

Firstly don't fill it up to the brim, its a safety hazard.
Second, around 3 litres is the dead stock in the tank. So practically you get around 17 litres of capacity

Filling up to the brim was actually just to check the capacity.
3 ltr is dead stock ! That's little too much.

I am currently using an indiemotard thumper exhaust and am pretty satisfied with it
