Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
I will give 10 on 10 on looks. I personally like the red colour. It's very appealing and catchy. Bike definitely leaves you with a first impression of its international looks, and it's not easy to pass by the bike and not notice it.Originally posted by gyan_recl350 View PostSo how was the first impression. How did the bike look in flesh?

Wow.. Was expecting this and makes me more happy as me being RE fan. I also read and heard that overall fit finish and paint job is better than any RE, did you feel so?Originally posted by Vinit Monga View PostI will give 10 on 10 on looks. Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Definitely the finish and paint quality was one of the best I saw in RE. And if we take step back, with new tbts looks along with new bullet and now cafe racer, RE is surpassing its own expectations. I am loving the way RE is shaping themselves now. Seems like they are spending more money in R&D and getting the rules of the game right like always.Originally posted by gyan_recl350 View PostWow.. Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Not sure about R&D but a better fit and finish everyone was expecting and rightly so. Cool they have heard that for cafe racer. Not like fit and finish is poor but a bit attention, a little touch here and there and some care is all that was and is required and poof!!! Problem solved.Originally posted by Vinit Monga View PostDefinitely the finish and paint quality was one of the best I saw in RE. Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
WOW!! The Cafe racer is here! Finally... i hope its will be priced below or just above 2L like the Duke! I know i'm being optimistic
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
I am also hoping that RE will call back the new TBTS and fix the fuel gauge option...
[Again being optimistic]

I am interested, can you give me more details pertaining to its usefulness on tbts and what to expect and limitationsOriginally posted by sushant View PostRace Dynamics will launch PowerTronic for TBTS 500 by mid November. Useful if you are looking forward on upgrading the silencer to Free Flow one and needs ECU remapped.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Yesterday the rear brake of my tb500 got jammed! Bike wasn't pulling. Waited for 15mins since the disc was hot. Then removed the air myself by loosening the nipple. This has happened to me the second time. Seems to be a common problem for the tb. Any reason for jamming. Royal enfield has to replace or recall these tb with the fault. Its serious. Suddenly while riding, the bike doesn't pull...loading the engine too.

The most astonishing part of this silencer is that it doesn't have any glasswool in it! But I am really content with it

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
I also asked xtorque for a quote. They say they have two models for 2012 (Rs.2700/-) and 2013(Rs.2900) + shipping. Which one did you get and was that a direct fit? Currently I am using the RE upswept silencer with k&n and there is slight backfire. I guess there will be more backfire in Wild Boar as its free flow.Originally posted by simao View PostBought a wild boar. Sounds amazing. In love with it. Bassy and not too loud like the goldie. Changing the silencers, air filters may change the amount of air intake and back pressure as the stock ECU is set to work with stock bike. An aftermarket ecu or an ecu programmer helps here to get rid of these issues apart from chalking out more power from the machine. I haven't replaced an ecu before so all I know is from various threads on this forum. There are Classic 500 fitted with RD ECU. Search the forum. You can also check PowerTRONIC - Plug-in ECU for Yamaha R15 and Enfield Classic 500 | racedynamics.inOriginally posted by Vinit Monga View PostI am interested, can you give me more details pertaining to its usefulness on tbts and what to expect and limitations

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
But I was told not to go with free flow n on top of that glasswool is mandate is what I was told,. is this true and in your case both are not adhered , does it mean it impacts your bike ? mainly worried to know impact on engine, performance, not worried on mileageOriginally posted by simao View PostThis one is from xtorque, banglore.
