hmmm... I wonder why... I have ridden my friend's CL500 (for short city distances only) and I was blown off by it's massive torque and responsiveness due to the Fi. In reviews also it was being said that they have better technology than their older cousin. I wished to own an RE some day (age factor / pillion comfort factor) but your post will keep haunting me !!

For the ride i have put some button tires with almost the same profile, front Pirelli 100/90-19 and rear some imported brand called Vee Rubber 120/90-18 and the bike is feeling even more laggy! and if i tell you the amount of things i replaced under warranty u would laugh your lungs out.
So last option for me is go for my ride come back and sell it!
Well i hope the same is not the case with me. Atleast till now i have faced not real problem, no oil leaks or anything (touch wood).

Sorry Dude for giving you nightmares about RE. Didn't mean to do so. As of date i am still a die hard fan of the Bullet and hate if any one says a word against it. But after spending a small fortune behind it i am wondering why am i not getting anything in return except trouble! My wife says i am having an affair with someone in the ASC as i am spending my weekends there fixing the bike No kidding almost last three months all my weekends were there! When i return i look like a mechanic because i don't leave the bike unattended. Now did i spend the fortune to waist my time there or to enjoy my ride? However it has given me thrills which nothing can match. So with a positive mind frame would leave for a ride to Nagaland hoping to come back smiling.

Same story here brother. Every weekend I am at the ASC. But leaving the negatives aside, I enjoy the ride everytime.
And all the best for the trip. Ride safe.

White Knight hehehe... I am not very disappointed with your inputs as RE is never an option or me right now but I was just thinking that as I am getting wiser (got my point ) bikes for which I have a fetish now (P220 and D390) may not be able to server me better in future. Also, with these bikes, the pillion comfort goes for an absolute toss. Thus bike from an RE would have been a better choice in near future but certainly I can't have another affair with an RE technician as marriage has taken it's own toll

I am surprised. Contrary to what has been going around in last 8-10 comments, I have faced no issues at all apart from three punctures
The engine is doing all good, no problems whatsoever.

M I generalizing it? No. The same way I won't generalize the problems associated with RE. Yes indeed it is true, UCE engine would last longer than CI , reason being simple, Al would always have less wear and tear then Fe and 4 times better oil circulation in UCE would only add to the cause. But it is really amazing how different bikes are behaving differently (in the context of issues)

Not sure if it has to do something with RE's technology which is called "hand made"

The Mystery of how much oil one should put in a Royal Enfield: The most important thing to consider is how much oil was drained from the engine before new oil is put. Most of the ASC guys are lazy and they wont take efforts to drain the engine completely. No matter how much they try, there would be some oil always there because it works like a fail safe to protect crucial parts inside the engine. Even though the manual says 2.75 ltr's of oil needs to be there in the engine, this will only happen when you have completely over-hauled an engine, and in a dry engine you are pouring 2.75 ltr of oil. During a regular oil change your engine should take anywhere between 2.25-2.5 Ltr of oil. I have been using an engine Flush from Abro! works for me. All you do is pour the complete can along with the old oil and keep the bike on idle for 3-5min and then drain the engine. Dont be in a hurry to pour the new oil yet, Waite for a couple of minutes and shake the bike to drop the oil, all you can do is hold the front disc and move it from front to back. Or you can keep it on a incline by placing a stone below the front wheel. Sometimes cranking the engine for a quick second also works. Remember its just cranking the engine and not starting your bike. Let a good mechanic do it for the first time before you can try your self. Most of the ASC mechanics are on a tight schedule and have to finish x number of bikes in a day. So its not completely their fault that they are not patient with our bikes. Remember the only person to take care of your bull is you, so try to do it yourself sometime.
Hello,

Finally I managed to get a contact who deals in all kind of engine oil in bangalore, he gave me mobil1 5w50 4l cane @ 4k. He informed me that 3 weeks back company increased the rate and new MRP is 4.7K (I can see new MRP on cane). Finally with lot of bargain he gave me the cane @ 1k per litre.

I will be giving me tbts500 tomorrow or day after for servicing. I will ensure oil change happens in front of me. I have noticed few minor problems which I will get rectified. Apart from that any other do's and dont's which I should be aware of?

I meant an upswept version of the indore or short bottle. like, on the same lines as the upswept goldstars. Hope you have come across them.
Upswept indore because on the tb500, the normal silencer brushes against the tarmac.

OK I see. Yah I have seen here in Bangalore but not used personally. Many also get it done from local mechanic's as per their choice.

Got my tbts 500 serviced today. (1st service)

The experience was not so great. I reached service station sharp @ 9 am and until 3 follow ups my bike was left unattended until 10:30 am.

Post speaking with their manager, one mechanic picked the bike up.

RE service store manager told me that I can't use Mobil1 5w50 oil on my bike ( which I was carrying from my side) else he will clearly take off engine warranty. He showed me terms and condition where it's specified that any lubricant or oil which RE doesn't authorise will end date the engine warranty. Finally after lot of argument agreed to the RE guys and got their brand 15w50 oil.

Bike was first handed over to me by 12 noon, but while riding back I found some thing rubbing and bike was not as smooth. I went back right away and after 2-3 hrs of fixing, trail runs finally they figured out that RE mechanic has tighten the chain and rear brake so much that it created problems with chain pad ( this pad is below the top line of chain and on side of rear tyre).

I was exhausted arguing and test riding the bike every 30 mins of them making some adjustments and asking me to test ride.

By 4pm finally everything was done, chain pad was replaced, chain was loosened and rear break was adjusted to better settings.

Not sure if I will give my bike to bannerghatta RE service station any more, I will try teknik motors in Indiranagar for my 2nd service.

Total bill- 880.

That is sad. But I really don't understand one thing here buddy, I had warned you clear cut previously in this thread only to stay away from that ASC and never ever go there, then I am not sure why did you go there or who brainwashed you. They are the worst in Bangalore I guess. Even I had suggested you to go nandi durga road mehboob garage. I had said that from my experience friend, that Bannerghatta ASC is just fit for washing the vehicle
