I don't know how many teeth it has in front or rear.

I just want to reduce the vibrations that creep in after 60 Kmph.

I am ready to sacrifice the initial acceleration a little if it increases the top end and helps reduce the vibrations...

    Suggestions?

PS: I would prefer if the mod doesn't involve a chain change and doesn't cost too much. Any direct fits?
Where are all the sprocket experts ?? Is no one active?

I see very little activity in this thread...
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

    • I want to alter the gearing ratio of an r15 for better acceleration. The r15's stock sprocket is 14 front, and 42 rear. I'm thinking about increasing the no of teeths of the rear sprocket. How big a sprocket can I install? I need a top end of 120-110.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Swap the front sprocket with 13-tooth sprocket of the RTR. Albeit, acceleration will improve at the cost of top-end.Nonetheless,you would manage to get to speeds of 120-125 easily..

            • @ Parth..

Both 160 and 180 have the same front sprocket i.e 13-toothed.So,you can go for either one..

Would it be a direct fit? Well, can't comment! You need to wait for the xbhpians that have carried these kind of mods in the past. They'd be knowing much better on this subject..So please, start shouting for help as I think people hardly visit this thread...

              Good luck with the mods!

hey bro to increase the top speed ,you need tall gears. tall gearing can be achieved by reducing no. of teeth on the rear sprocket or increasing the size of gearbox sprocket.this will increase the speed in each gear

you can increase teeth in the rear sprocket .increment should not be more than three 3 teeth or you can decrease 1 teeth in front sprocket .for the final drive ratios ....divide reduced no. of teeth by original ones .this holds when you are changing front sprockets

                            • Umm.............Sprocket Masters I need help here,

The stock setting is 13/44.........In order to find more Top end without sacrificing much torque,I have opted two custom settings,

                              1.13/42
                              2.14/44

The bike in question makes peak power at 8500 rpms and peak torque at 8250 rpms.

So which setting would provide the better of both worlds and by how much the performance would differ from stock.????

13/42 suits your needs as you want little increment in top speed and please mention top speed you are getting with your current settings so that new top speed cam be calculated
if you select 14/44 then you will get more top end than 13/42 setup but acc. will decrease
