Re: World of Sprockets!
thanks for the reply. do you face chain slackness issue. i cconstantly facing the issue, my chain rubs wit the guard regardless of adjustment. i think its either due to the wornout chain or 15T front.Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostMe too own hunk and switched to whole chain set of Unicorn 15/43. Its a direct fit and u'll have no issues at all. But unicorn chain set costs a lot higher than hunk's.

Re: World of Sprockets!
If you can get your hands on Unicorn's 15T sprocket then that will be a direct fit on FZ.Originally posted by ronitgandhi24 View Postfrom where I can buy 15t sprocket for fzfi..every vendor is selling the entire chain set....
No, they don't. Yamaha sells the entire chain sprocket kit.Originally posted by auggyds View PostYamaha service centres sell them separately. The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Re: World of Sprockets!
Hi All,
With reference to this post, I want to know if the vice versa also holds good.
As the speedo measures the KMPH from the crank and it shows incorrect speed in case of using a smaller front sprocket which is more than the actual speed, it should show less speed if we use a smaller rear sprocket than the actual speed as well.
Am I missing something

Re: World of Sprockets!
Normally the speedometer cable is attached to the front wheel which reads speeds.Originally posted by Only Amit... View PostHi All,

That was my understanding as well...Originally posted by auggyds View PostNormally the speedometer cable is attached to the front wheel which reads speeds.
Can someone confirm this?____________________________

Re: World of Sprockets!
People have been over gearing / under gearing bikes since ages without any errors on the speedometer. Most of the bikes have their speedometer cable attached to the front wheel. Sprocket size does not affect the speedometer readings.

Re: World of Sprockets!
Hi. I have a 200NS. After reading through some (reliable) sites, came to the conclusion that a 428 chain gives far less transmission loss than a 520 chain. Only thing is, have to check the specs and select the one matching the load capacity of the 520. Well, that is ok. But sprockets! I found that the front sprocket of my (previous bike) P150 is a perfect match on the 200NS. But the chain will most probably rub the swingarm because it's dia is less than the 14T 520 sprocket. I can increase the rear sprocket dia, of course, but I would like a slightly taller ratio than the stock 14/39. So can I get a bigger front sprocket, say 16 or 17T? Shaft/spline size exactly same as P150. Also, I would be very thankful if you help me out with the rear sprocket too. Fitment holes is not a problem for the rear, I can get it modified in a machine shop. I had earlier used the RX100's 36T rear on my P150 after modification. I used to cruise on 75kmph@6000rpm (I think). Thank you
