Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
recently I upgraded rear tyre to Metz M5 (150/60-R17) on my Ninja 300, it costed me 6700 in Pune at Pungliya tyres.Originally posted by themachinehead View PostHello folks.
The stock tyres on the ninja are just as poor as the Yamaha R3.
It scared the hell out of me 3 times already in 2 months.
Need to upgrade asap. Guys please suggest your preferred replacement.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
My bike was running on stock IRC tyre so after changing to Metz I can feel the difference and bike feels more planted, in my group most of the guys have Metz tyres on their bike and everyone is happy with the performance however life of these tyres is around 10-12k km only. I was planning to buy Michelin which costs around 5500 because it lasts longer than Metz but got a good deal on Metz so decide to buy it.Originally posted by vmarutha View Posthow do you feel with Metzelers on? your feedback will be really helpful. 10-12k kms is decent enough for Metz rears. do feel any difference from upsizing 140mm to 150mm? also how is the muck throw in rain compared with IRC's?Originally posted by worldlife88 View PostMy bike was running on stock IRC tyre so after changing to Metz I can feel the difference and bike feels more planted, in my group most of the guys have Metz tyres on their bike and everyone is happy with the performance however life of these tyres is around 10-12k km only. Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
How can changing your tyres affect warranty? Unless the bigger tyre rubs against a part, causing it's early failure, I don't think so.Originally posted by themachinehead View PostIs there any adverse effect of upsizing from 140 to 150. Does it affect warranty?

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Doesn't affect warranty. The only downside is that top speed drops by a little bit whilst you gain on the corners due to increased contact patch. Also, if changing from stock IIRC tyres, then the slightly reduced height makes for more comfortable riding position with much lesser stress on the wrists but makes the bike prone to scrape the underbelly on nasty speed breakers. All in all and in my opinion, the 150/60 rear tyre section makes a sensible and worthwhile upgrade on the N300.Originally posted by themachinehead View PostIs there any adverse effect of upsizing from 140 to 150.
