Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
Nothing to worry about. The golden rules of run in process are (1). Never lug the engine and (2). Never let the engine overheat. As long as warm up the engine properly, ride in the correct gear and vary the load frequently without doing points 1 & 2 you will have a well run in engine. If you treat the engine like fine crystal glass, you are asking for trouble.Originally posted by vikrant_ View PostOnly a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
I hope you didn't redline her. Occasional burst is fine. During my break in I stuck to 4k rpm limit for the 1st 100 kms after which it was 5 to 5.5k and ridden in a manner as suggested by abhimanyu. 800 to 1600 saw me taking her to 7.5k max.Originally posted by vikrant_ View PostWhat if we cross the 4000 RPM mark before 800kms break in ? Any negative effect on engine/bike in long run ?
I got bit excited on Gr Noida expressway and crossed 150kmph twice after 400kms run, before that i was maintaining the RPM restriction.

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
Ownership Approved and MergedOriginally posted by arnavsameer View PostWith the launch of the 300 aspirations of all Ninja fans must be soaring. Well to be very frank the bug of buying a sports bike bit me almost a month back though as all conservative Indians would say " Pretty Late in life". But I guess one should get younger at heart with each passing year. so it all began when I came across a friend Mr Amrinder who was passing town on an R1.i immediately decided that I too need to buy a bike now. The last one I owned was a Yamaha RXZ 135 which was considered real hep when it was launched I guess somewhere in 96. So that got me short listing bikes presently available in the Indian Market. Since I am presently driving a CRV and have been away from the biking experience for quiet some time I found the research very interesting . I was clear that I will not go in for a daily commuting bike also with due apologise to all RE diehard fans somehow the RE's don't appeal to me.......probably I see a lot of them daily in the course of my job. So the next available choices were:
1. Ninja 650
2. Ninja 300
3. R1
4. Fireblade
5. CBR 250
As I would hardly be located at big metros owning a litre class bike would have been a problem as far as maintenance is concerned also I would run out of road pretty soon. So that left me with the choice between the Ninja family and the CBR 250. Though 650 is the ultimate bike as a daily commuter and as a sports variant entry level superbike the only thing which made me drop it from my list was the price. So ultimately there were two bikes to choose from ie Ninja 300 and CBR 250. As Ninja 300 is yet not available here all my research was from International forums. the CBR though is a good effort from Honda but some how the fit and finish as compared to Ninja was ( my personal feeling) wanting. Also it does not give the mean looks of a sports bike. I had the opportunity of riding a 250 for a day and this is what I observed:
1. The engine though is pretty refined but it lacks the excitement.
2. The fit and finish , paint quality and plastic quality leaves scope for improvement.
3. The profile does not look imposing enough.
So the last in the list was ninja 300. Though at the time of booking no Indian ownership reviews are available but a lot of International reviews are on the net. Influenced by these reports I had taken the plunge and had booked a 300 on 2nd Apr with Pro Biking. Deliveries were to start some time end of April. As only two colours would have been available ie Green and White, I had gone for the characteristic green of ninja. What really got me going for this bike was that First off, it looks gorgeous, with proper big-bike styling that fools many a passer by into thinking it's a 600cc plus sports bike (aided by the lack of any stickers except, simply, 'Ninja'). It has big-brother design cues - especially the twin headlights, windscreen, fairing and exhaust. Its genesis is clearly a scaled-down middleweight rather than a hopped-up 125. This is a 'small' bike you can own and stare at fondly without feeling like you're at the rear end of the food chain.Despite the displacement increase, Kawasaki claims the Ninja 300 gets better gas mileage than its predecessor.
.... to be cont:Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

It's worth the wait! Trust Me on that, you won't feel bored for the next 5 years at leastOriginally posted by whymail View Posti am shocked to read this... mumbai folks are claiming a waiting period of 100 days for a kwanja650. since i dont ride in rains, i am planning my bookings such that she comes by the times the monsoon is over... surprised that elsewhere the delivery times is 6~8 weeks only?

Kawasaki's assembly line has shifted from Chakan to a new location (Forgot the name of the place) from what I heard hence, the waiting period has been increased plus they have to clear backlog for people who are waiting for more than 4 months now due to this fiasco.
Saar, 4k is 90 kmph on N650 so its a different story altogether whereas N300 I think should be rode between 5k - 5.5k at least as 4K on 6th gear is way underpowered and ride becomes very uncomfortable.Originally posted by xstunter View PostN650 does 80 kmph at 4k rpm. But with the tourque available at low rpms u wouldnt mind riding it at 4k rpm. But 300 is best ridden at 5 k rpm for runnin. The next leg can be done at 7k rpm.

Deepan
Congratulations! Since you stay in Pathankot you are lucky that you can take her to hills for every weekend. You have twisties all around you where you can enjoy this beauty. Have fun and Ride Safe!Originally posted by arnavsameer View PostSo finally after a wait of almost 2 months i got delivery of my vehicle. At the KTM showroomit was a very plesent experiance and things went of very smoothly. I insisted that i should get the bike first thing in the morning as soon as the showroom opened as i had a long way to cover back home. After all the paperwork the bike was delivered at 12. I had the advantage of a decent run in period as i rode it almost 300 kms back home though with a rpm restriction of 4000.

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
After waiting peacefully for complete 2 months, I finally lay hands on the Ninja! 10 June being my mum's birthday I was accompanied to the showroom by my best old buddies...10 of them
Needless to say they were as excited as I was since this is the first sports bike in the group
Had a small cake cutting ceremony, called panditji, performed the pooja, took blessings from mum and dad, posed with the motorcycle, friends clicked hell lot of pics and there I was...ready to ride my dream! Swung my leg over and made myself familiar with the motorcycle. Moment I turned the key ON the lovely display welcomed me with its beautiful gleaming lights...disengaged the killswitch and I brought her to LIFE! Also brining smile to everybody's faces...mine being the widest
This motorcycle sounds absolutely amazing! The exhaust has this bass effect which grows with the revs and grows quite dramatically...it is nothing but music to my ears - Bliss
Engaged the supersmooth clutch, shifted to first and I was rolling...I was FINALLY riding my dream, a dream which I saw some years ago. It was a special feeling, a very distinct one which I cannot express in words! I briefly looked up and thanked my God and my parents...
Some pics of my Serenity (I've named my Ninja - Serenity
), hope you like them:

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
Congrats buddy, I know how it feels to ride this beauty, the feeling is mutual. Hope you have many safe miles on your ninjette. To the other ninja owners I have one question to ask shifting the first 3 gears I hear a smooth clicking sound which is not there while shifting from 4th to 6th. Is it normal ? I have already clocked 450 Kms on my machine so was just wondering.Originally posted by Arsenic View PostAfter waiting peacefully for complete 2 months, I finally lay hands on the Ninja! 10 June being my mum's birthday I was accompanied to the showroom by my best old buddies...10 of them

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
Thanx. I too would love to get the frame sliders installed at the earliest but am in such a place where there is none available, also on line I am not sure which ones to pick up which would be compatible with 300 without cutting any part of the faring. So am waiting for some one to install a pair on their ninjette so that I can take cue.Originally posted by whymail;955534

@Arsenic: Many congratulations and lovely write up! Reminded me of the day when I took delivery of my Kwacker. Good to see you geared while taking delivery plus tank pad already in place from start are good signs. Ride Safe and Do Proper Run In.
@arnavsameer: Frame Sliders for N300 are available in Bachoo Motors, Tardeo, Mumbai. I think you can buy online and ship it to your address. They stock RT Moto No Cut Frame sliders and have already fitted them on couple of N300's. Check the below link for all pictures, I am adding one pic from the FB album for everyone's reference. Cost mentioned is INR 5,600
