Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
This is Mitra right if I am not wrong !! congrats mate on your booking...Originally posted by burninrubbr View PostSo I'm gonna pick up mine in a couple of days, got the Green one.
Any one tried the Moto-man running-in method ?
Not sure if any1 here has done it personally I stick to manual guide..
Correct me if I am wrong but Moto-man run-in requires you to change Oil and Oil filter every 240 odd kms till your cross 1000 kms mark which means total 4 Oil and Oil filter change, considering the fact each service with Oil & Filter change costs around 3400 INR in Mumbai we are talking about 13K + expense just to cover your run-in
Again I am no expert in this matter but this is what my understanding is so don't curse me

Mitra bugger, I think we met very recently and there you did not open your mouth even once about this latest plan. Your Doomed next time we meet if what you write here is trueOriginally posted by burninrubbr View PostSo I'm gonna pick up mine in a couple of days, got the Green one.

Regarding Moto-man run in method, please go through this link - Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power
It's a very debatable topic and if you are not sure how to go about it, it's better to follow normal run in prescribed in your manual. It's better to take it easy rather than damaging the piston rings of a brand new engine.
Best thing would be to follow 4K for initial 100-150 kms and then probably give short bursts till 5-6K and reduce speed gradually and repeat occasionally after all run in is all about sealing the piston ring properly.
P.S. Mitra Bhau don't run in the Kwacker as you used to ride your duke. That's not Moto-man

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
What I did with Duke was Maniac-man method !
The only problem I have with sticking to the manual-method of braking-in, is that it's too boring & I'm sure I wont follow it
So is it bad to follow the moto-man method ?The only thing standing in your way, the ONLY thing you can count on, at any given time.. Is YOU

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
@burninrubbr: going @ 4k & speeds in sub-100 is boring? seriously? lol i like that!
i dont mind being the 'run-in rider' for ur ride... *ahem... cough* ... the way i normally ride, is run-in period method personified itself

she looks gorgeous buddy.....cant wait to see her in flesh!!Originally posted by Arsenic View PostAfter waiting peacefully for complete 2 months, I finally lay hands on the Ninja! 10 June being my mum's birthday I was accompanied to the showroom by my best old buddies...10 of them
Needless to say they were as excited as I was since this is the first sports bike in the group
Had a small cake cutting ceremony, called panditji, performed the pooja, took blessings from mum and dad, posed with the motorcycle, friends clicked hell lot of pics and there I was...ready to ride my dream! Swung my leg over and made myself familiar with the motorcycle. Moment I turned the key ON the lovely display welcomed me with its beautiful gleaming lights...disengaged the killswitch and I brought her to LIFE! Also brining smile to everybody's faces...mine being the widest
This motorcycle sounds absolutely amazing! The exhaust has this bass effect which grows with the revs and grows quite dramatically...it is nothing but music to my ears - Bliss
Engaged the supersmooth clutch, shifted to first and I was rolling...I was FINALLY riding my dream, a dream which I saw some years ago. It was a special feeling, a very distinct one which I cannot express in words! I briefly looked up and thanked my God and my parents...
Some pics of my Serenity (I've named my Ninja - Serenity
), hope you like them:

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
Congrats, good to see more 300's coming into the forum. If you may I would like suggest you that during the waiting period of the bike you can pick up the essentials like a tank pad, paddock stand, helmet, guards etc as after the purchase of the bike the euphoria will take some time settling. So u can start the run up for the delivery so as to be well prepared on the D day.Originally posted by burninrubbr View PostSo I'm gonna pick up mine in a couple of days, got the Green one.

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
According to the manual 1st service should be done 800kms/2months whichever is earlier.
I'll complete 800kms in next 5-6 days, so 1st service will be done very soon
Few ques. :
Any specific thing that i should keep in my mind while going for 1st service ?
Also one of my friend told me to use Motul engine oil!!, Errm.. I'm new to this... someone explain please
I'm not able to find any cover for N300 in local market, can i buy it online? if yes kindly provide link :P================================================== ==========
Home is where your bike sits still long enough to leave a few drops of oil on the ground.

Congrats on you purchase firstly. Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
Get them to check the oil seals and for any leakages, top up the coolant and lube the chain. I had to ASK the service guys for coolant and chain lube before they did it.Originally posted by vikrant_ View PostAccording to the manual 1st service should be done 800kms/2months whichever is earlier.

The N300 cover should be available at probiking showroom for Rs 1024 (thats what I paid on April 23 before LBT at Kanjurmarg PBK). But honestly I wouldn't recommend it cause a) it's white, and b) the front part which covers 3/4th of the tire has already started peeling/tearing off.
Try the bullet cover. Its cheaper, bigger and seems better.Ride Fast, Ride Safe

Re: Ninja 300: Ninjette Calling
Thanks for the input , in fact i was about to place an order for the cover. Never imagined that they would compromise on the quality of the cover specially when they are up to the mark with the quality of the bike.Originally posted by arunrk85 View PostThe N300 cover should be available at probiking showroom for Rs 1024 (thats what I paid on April 23 before LBT at Kanjurmarg PBK).
