Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
I had done 1800+ so far. I am using unleaded petrol in her from Day1. I had done 150+ kmph on speedo couple of times and I think I did it in 5th gear full tucked in. I didn't feel any thing strange with the engine at high RPMs. So speed never an issue with normal unleaded petrol. Mileage I'm not sure buddy. A 500 INR fill will be there till another 130 - 150 KMs on the Odo. Never cared about it. Also I ride her a bit hard. Normally I shift past 10K - 11K in the tacho. And I never tried to calculate it riding economically (pinning the throttle at 6K - 8K in overdrive, I think this will give the best possible mileage figure for any Ninja300Originally posted by karticraja View PostThx for the reply. Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
to add my 2 cents on the average and the max speed.I use unleaded 91 RON petrol only( petrol pump's claims so) and as Raj Kamal R pointed out I havent also felt and issue in any RPM. Max speed which I have touched so far is 174 kmph ( crouched and in closed and empty road). Mileage wise if you plan to stick between 6-7.5K rpm max at every gear you can easily get 29-30 kmph whereas ripping it hard till redline reduces it to 25. But then Ninja is meant to be redlined

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
Got my Ninja's tail lamp unit converted to LED lights and also planning to covert the indicators to LED units both front and rear
The tail unit LEDs are similar to those of the Duke but a bit bigger than them and definitely look stunning on the Ninja.
Total making cost for the LED tail lamp is Rs. 1800/- and another Rs. 900/- for LED indicatorsRegards,

@Manna Chowdhury : sorry for the delay in revert... work has been a b|tch of late u know
the radiator doesnt need a degreaser to clean - the chain & sprockets need that.
for cleaning the radiator, this is what i do:
1. thoroughly soak the radiator w/ a garden hose
2. this gets the muck / mud stuck in the fins a bit loosed up
3. splash the radiator w/ couple of mugs of car shampoo mixed with water
4. pull up a low-rise chair to sit on [thanks to my aching back & lumbar muscles]
5. dip the old toothbrush in the car shampoo + water mix & go with the grain-flow of the radiator fins - i.e. move the brush in vertical up & down movement whilst wetting the brush often.
6. once am done this... use the garden hose to wash / douche the loosened up muck.
7. repeat step #3 thru #6 till the entire thing is visibly clean.
that's about it

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
Hello Gents, I've created a Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/Indi...saki.Ninja300/ particularly for us Ninja 300 Owners. Since a lot of people now own the 300, I think it is only worthwhile creating a group where all the owners can meet up online, post pics/vids, arrange Ninja 300 specific group rides and share their experiences with their steeds etc etc on a forum other than xBHP.
P.S: I am aware this is OT, please do not bombard me with OT OT OT posts, this actually is a good way to reach out to maximum Ninja 300 owners. Peace!
Cheers,
NikunjRegards,

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
Posting after a long time. Owning and riding the 300 is always a pleasure even in the congested Mumbai traffic. I have completed 3.5K Kms till now and while the pros have been mentioned endlessly I will be stating few of my unsavory experiences:
1) Front brake pads got worn off after 3300 Kms. Got them replaced for Rs. 1507 (incl 167.44 VAT). The rear ones are good for another 1K kms.
2) Last Wednesday, I found my bike sans its cover and leaning against our building wall on its right. My worst fears were confirmed when I found the right hand mirror cracked. I'll probably be banned if I write what I plan to do to the person who did this (should I ever come to know who it is in the 1st place)
3) Not happy with the service provided by the Ghatkopar SVC for multiple reasons.
a) I was assured a replacement would be available only to for them to realize that they didn't have one after I reached there and got my bike washed.
b) The washing was unsatisfactory with decent amount of gravel still visible on the front mudguard.
c) The chain clean & lube they did was 5 secs spray of chain clean and immediate spraying of chain lube for another 5 secs. On enquiring where the hell have they actuallly cleaned it, the reponse was "aisey bh chalta hai"!!! I was about to blow my lid off when the supervisor intervened and got it resprayed with the chain clean, actually clean the chain and then lube it.
4) Ever since my return from the SVC the bike's engine over-heating light turns on. The light comes up even if I ride on open roads. Will be going again today to get the overheating issue checked and because I was assured that the mirror replacement would be done.
I just read Abhimanyu's service post and realized that few of the stuff he has mentioned like (coolant level check and chain lube) were done after I asked for it while checks for tyre pressure and battery were never done. Will be taking Nikunj's (Arsenic) advice and visit the Seawoods SVC next time.
Oh! Almost forgot. I got my RC card after more than 2 months in the last week of July and found that the Model is written as 250R

Cheers guys and ride safe,

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
I have a question. Has anyone experienced engine stalling issues on the 300 on braking and decelerating? I heard some news going around that some of the Ninja 300 models are experiencing this and have been recalled in the US. I do know that the ones we get here aren't imported from US, but just wanted to confirm about the issue.2013 R15(Sold) | 2014 Duke 390 (Sold) | 2022 Adv 390 | 2022 Ninja 300

eh eh eh! sure... i will explain / demonstrate the whole thing to u on MY bike again... will cost u maatra inr. 5000/- ... let me know if u r in!Originally posted by viraj_s85 View PostThat's little complicated process... that is correct - those that we get here are via the APAC way... slim chance of having these genetic issues w/ the ones we get here thoOriginally posted by Ezilkannan View Post...experienced engine stalling issues on the 300 on braking and decelerating?
arunrk85 : my 2 paisa worth observations / suggestions / rant below on ur post above...
[1] this is a known & yet a shocking / surprising issue - not the 1st time it's got reported & honestly am shocked! i dont know whom to scream @ or bash-up for this. shoddy level of parts @ a premium machine like this... unimagineable.
[2] in case ur society has a CCTV, its rather easy to find out the culprit. pls do so, if u can & have his family jewels castrated & preserved in a jar so that his next generation is perished!
[3] Ghatkopar service is a bane & a curse to all Kawanja owners in mumbai & it to be avoided @ all costs. never ever EVER go there. those nincompoops are fit to service 'mere papa ki aavanti' & not Kawanjas!
- spraying chain + sprockets w/ a degreaser
- letting it rest for 15 mins thus
- pressure washing is thereafter [with care to avoid under tank / seat electricals & radiator]
- 'brushing ninja teeth' a.k.a. radiator brushing w/ an old tooth brush + car shampoo
- blow-drying the entire bike in general & chain + sprockets in particular
- spraying chain-lube [preferably dry-spray from Wurth - as it doesnt 'fly-off' the way motul's & others of the world do] & letting the bike rest for 15
- then riding it off
this is a ritual i carry out every 500kms on the clock - suggest u do this too.
Kawanja owners are treated as road-side stray's by Ghatkopar folks & i've known instances when friends have had to wait for upto 4 months to get mirrors for their N650's.Last edited by whymail; 08-11-2013, 09:14 AM.◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦

Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive
I got my Ninja on August 2, 2013.
Till now ODO reads 988km.
Done a 500km ride from Kolkata to my home.
About the bike its a dream come true. And its really worthy. But still for day to day life there are some areas which I would like to rectify.
1. There is actually no rear mud guard at all. May be it will look ugly but still I think its necessary. As the spraying of water and mud reduces the enjoyment of a rainy ride.
2. Pillion seat is a little high. Anyone less than 6feet tall will have difficulties in reaching the seat from ground.
3. Seats are not suited for long ride. Have to add a bit more foam.
4. Tail light. It could be LED one.
5. Tires though offer good grip its too soft for Indian roads. I already got many cuts in it due to the bad road condition.
Now what I like... may be love
1. The sound. Its so smooth and soothing. And first thing to notice when u start.
2. The mass distribution. Its so good that It does not feel like a 172kg bike. even when the petrol moves in tank u can feel it.
3. The headlight. I think there is no need to upgrade these for Indian roads, and I really love night rides.
4. The clutch and the gearbox... no comments.
5. Rear view mirrors. Have a good view.
6. The instrumentation cluster.
7. Lastly the looks, as I cant see it while riding. But the reflection in passerby's eyes...
Servicing will be done next week in my home...
I could not upload the pictures as its coming in low resolution. Any help???
I don't know its stalling issue or not, but I did notice engine turning off while deceleration to very low speed like from 60kmph to 10kmph in 6th gear. But if I change the gear accordingly there is no issue.Last edited by arpansarkar; 08-11-2013, 05:06 PM.learned biking in Suzuki Samurai in 2004

I've just joined the forum and have requested that I be added to the FB group. Got the Ninja 300 from the Kanjur Marg outlet on 23rd July and have done 575 kms till date.
Just wanted to share this with you guys out there. This goes back to 1983 and as an 8th std student, we were discussing fastest bikes when someone said Kawasaki Ninja. That name got into my head
In the 2nd week of July, my junior comes and tells me "Sir, bike book kar raha hoon" to which I ask "Kaunsa" he said "Avenger" and proceeded to the Bajaj Auto website. At the corner of the webpage, I saw the lines "Meet the Ninja" and that did it. Made a down payment on the weekend and got the bike in a week. I didnt inform my wife nor my kids about the bike till I got it home.
Well guys, to some it looks like I am suffering from mid life crisis but knowing me I would call it "chasing my dreams"

.... arpansarkar; change gears at the right engine speeds, whether shifting up or down, unless you want an expensive engine rebuild. Don't lug the engine, and don't use the speedo as a shift indicator, the rev counter is there for a reason.
