The issue is limited right now to U.S. models only. There seem to be stalling issues with some of the U.S. bikes, due to which the ECU is being replaced.

Note: the U.S. model does not have a O2 sensor, hence, it has a different ECU.

Just one pointer; since the engine has over heated so badly, it's advisable to change the oil. Most people will say there is no need, but consider the fact that the oil has been operating at the higher end of spectrum and will have deteriorated much faster than in normal use. Therefore it's prudent to change the oil.

Guys this may seem a silly question but have you heard the whirr of the radiator fan? Its so damn irritating. Am in the break in period and do the Borivali-ghodbunder-thane-jvlr-borivali stretch on weekends at 7 am (quite cool in terms of temperature) and on idling, i hear this weird sound. Called Shekhar from the Kanjur outlet and he said its the radiator fan and i hope thats what it is but its damn annoying.

Learn to live with it. The alternate is to live with a overheating engine (if the fan does not come on when it is suppose to). Personally, the fan has never bothered me. In fact, when it comes on, it reassures me that the cooling system is working.

We are lucky that for this model Kawasaki has created a duct to reroute the hot air to the bottom of the fairing, the 250r gives out so much heat directly on to your legs that it becomes a tad uncomfortable.

At the Ghatjopar SVC again but this time with the BAL engineer. He took her for a 2 min ride and detected that although the motor is making a noise the fans are not really working. As per him the motor must be malfunctioning.

Now let's see if they replace stuff (if required) under warranty.

There is no 'if' in this matter. They 'must' replace it under warranty. Who in their right mind in this day and age can say that a brand new bike with only a couple of thousand kilometers has a engine component failure and its not covered under warranty?

I am most interested in know how much time it is going to take for them to replace the component. I don't think they stock any spares other than oil filter and other consumables. A gentleman who has clocked 65,000 kms on his N250 was telling me that sometimes his bike sits for days at the SVC for want of spares.

Right on. Just had a word witht Mayank (BAL Engineer). I'll have to leave my bike at the workshop for a min of 7 to max of 22 days. 7 days if the motor is available at their chakan plant if not then 22 days for the part to arrive fron Thailand

It'll be replaced under warranty but it's going to cause me some real royal pain not riding her.
