Noob question : Changing exhaust will void warranty? Stock exhaust doesn't sound good to me
What options do i have for aftermarket exhaust?
Also, any reputed shop/workshop for aftermarket exhaust in Delhi ?

According to the terms and conditions of the warranty, yes, it will void the warranty. There are 2 types of exhaust systems in the market. One is a 'slip on' and the other is full exhaust system. The 'slip on' system does not give any performance improvements as such (about 1/2 bhp), what it will do for you is give you a 'better' (read 'different') sound and will reduce the weight of the bike by about 2 to 3 kgs (maybe even 4 kgs). In a 'slip on' system the rear section of the exhaust system i.e. the muffler is replaced and as the word suggest its a 'slip on", the headers and cat con will remain as they are and there will be no need fueling changes.

With a full exhaust system, its a different story all together. As the name suggest the complete exhaust system is replaced, including the headers and the cat con. This leads to considerable changes in the power characteristics of the engine. How characteristics will change will depend largely on how the exhaust system has been designed and with what agenda in mind. However, the main thing is that it will give a performance boost. It will also decrease weight of the bike and change the sound. However, the bike will require changes in the fueling. Since the Ninja is fuel injected, there are 2 ways to achieve this change in fueling. The first is to re-flash the ECU and overwrite the existing maps with new maps. The other way is to add a piggy back fuel metering unit which will modify the fueling.

A 'slip on' system is cheaper and easier to install, whereas full exhaust is more expensive and has a bit complication involved in it.

All the major aftermarket exhaust makers make a 'slip on' exhaust. These include Leo Vince, Akrapovic, Yoshimura, Arrow, M4, etc.

There are fewer full exhaust maker such as Leo Vince, Arrow and Yoshimura (for Ninja 300).

Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Here is my new Kwacker on her first ride early morning! Still in heaven

                            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Here is my quick review of the bike based on a day's riding:

Pros: 1) Seating postion and ergonomics is simply fantastic..
                            2) I really loved the thump that the exhaust gives especially at idle rpm
                            3) Awesome build quality of parts and paint.
                            4) Tires seem real grippy (atleast compared to the MRF Zappers on my P200).
                            5) This should have been the first point, but anyways, she looks simply stunning to say the least.
                            6) Suspension is pretty good. A bit on the stiffer side, but handled bumps with ease.
                            7) Well, i can go on and on with the pros...

Cons: 1) When the handle is turned completely, the metal strap of the watch hits the tank.
                            2) At full tank, at standstill while sitting on the bike, the bike was swaying slightly from left to right due to the fuel movement(The first time it happened i thought it was an earthquake :P)

I do have a few questions to all the existing owners out here(Some questions might be a bit noobish)

                            1) I do not get much oil on my fingers while touching the chain, although i do see oil in between the links. I am not sure if there is adequate lube on the chain or not. Anyone have any idea on this? Also, which chain spray do you guys recommend?
                            2) I filled in normal HP unleaded petrol from a decent petrol pump and it seems perfectly fine. Anyone does otherwise?(Speed, etc)
                            3) Anyone who has already had his bike serviced, do they use a torque wrench for the oil drain nut bolt and the oil filter. I am saying this because the manual specifies a recommended torque setting. Moreover, few years back, i had the crankcase of my P200 cracked near the oil drain bolt, mostly due to over-tightening by those service guys. Had to replace the whole crankcase, after which my engine mounting and stuff leaks oil here and there and does not not get fully rectified
                            4) Anyone using some anti-rust coating near the muffler tip where everyone seems to have rusting there?
                            5) Is a tank pad really essential? My belt buckle does not seem to touch the tank, but that is probably due to me being extra cautious!

Overall, i think the bike is really worth its money. Still have not got the feel of the true power due to the break-in
Looks apart, this is a real fantastically engineered bike which i a msure i will never get bored of!
                            Happy riding
F1 is a way of life!
