                    1) I do not get much oil on my fingers while touching the chain, although i do see oil in between the links. I am not sure if there is adequate lube on the chain or not. Anyone have any idea on this? Also, which chain spray do you guys recommend?
All recommended oils are listed in owner's manual Page no 128. Regarding chain lube its the timing. U have to lube more in rain, after wash and in dirty areas.
                    2) I filled in normal HP unleaded petrol from a decent petrol pump and it seems perfectly fine. Anyone does otherwise?(Speed, etc.)
Speed is also RON 91. So no need. Its better to check the fuel quality of the Unleaded RON 91. Unless its adulterated its good.
                    3) Anyone who has already had his bike serviced, do they use a torque wrench for the oil drain nut bolt and the oil filter. I am saying this because the manual specifies a recommended torque setting. Moreover, few years back, i had the crankcase of my P200 cracked near the oil drain bolt, mostly due to over-tightening by those service guys. Had to replace the whole crankcase, after which my engine mounting and stuff leaks oil here and there and does not not get fully rectified
                    Torque wrench is always better.
                    4) Anyone using some anti-rust coating near the muffler tip where everyone seems to have rusting there?
Rusting in my bike's exhaust too. I will ask this same question to anyone who used anti rust coating.
                    5) Is a tank pad really essential? My belt buckle does not seem to touch the tank, but that is probably due to me being extra cautious!
I feel that tank pad is more necessary for the side of the tank in this bike, rather than the middle unless u r doing high speeds while laying on the tank.

Overall, i think the bike is really worth its money. Still have not got the feel of the true power due to the break-in
Looks apart, this is a real fantastically engineered bike which i a msure i will never get bored of!
                    Happy riding

I'm yet to book. I'm a little confused as to whether I should book it from Adyar or Mogappair. Adyar is quite long for me, but heard that the service is good there. Mogappair KTM is closer by but its newly opened, so there is an element of doubt with regards to the quality of service.
Btw, the pics are quite good, I thought you were using a cam.

One side is red in colour, whereas the other side is grey. The second thing that you, will notice is that its actually 2 different types of foam bonded together. The grey foam is coarse grade foam (outer layer), which is used to trap large particles. The red foam is fine grade foam (inner layer), which filters out remaining particle till size of 5 microns to allow clean air to enter the engine.

The removal of the air filter on the Ninja 300 is a fairly straightforward job. Remove the screws of the black plastic panel under the front seat on the left side.

Then unscrew and remove white panel that rest above the black panel.

Once you have removed the white and black panel, you now have access to the stock air filter.

Now pull the stock air filter out.

The stock air filter has a plastic frame on both sides of the foam that is press fit. The purpose of this frame is to maintain the structural integrity of the foam and not allow it to deform under heavy suction.

Remove the plastic frame by gently pushing and pulling on the two male/female pins located in the middle of the frame.

Below is the state of the stock air filter after the bike having run for 1,600 kms. Kawasaki recommends a cleaning interval of 6,000 kms and replacement of the filter at every 12,000 kms or 2 years (whichever is earlier). Looking at the state of the filter after just 1,600 kms, I honestly think it would be prudent to clean the filter at intervals between 3,000 to 4,000 kms. As a side note, I find it a bit strange that Kawasaki recommends that stock foam filter be replaced every 12,000 kms. Normally, foam filters are washable and re-useable.

Now to the next step. Install the plastic frame that was removed from the stock filter on the Pipercross.

The Pipercross was sprayed with this oil spray can and allowed to soak for 10 minutes before being plugged into the airbox.

After ensuring that the oil had soaked through the entire air filter it was plugged into the air box.

Please note that it is very important to ensure that the red side (fine side) of the air filter is facing the engine (up) and the grey side (coarse side) is facing towards the back of the bike (down).
