I've just joined the forum and have requested that I be added to the FB group. Got the Ninja 300 from the Kanjur Marg outlet on 23rd July and have done 575 kms till date.

Just wanted to share this with you guys out there. This goes back to 1983 and as an 8th std student, we were discussing fastest bikes when someone said Kawasaki Ninja. That name got into my head In the 2nd week of July, my junior comes and tells me "Sir, bike book kar raha hoon" to which I ask "Kaunsa" he said "Avenger" and proceeded to the Bajaj Auto website. At the corner of the webpage, I saw the lines "Meet the Ninja" and that did it. Made a down payment on the weekend and got the bike in a week. I didnt inform my wife nor my kids about the bike till I got it home.

Well guys, to some it looks like I am suffering from mid life crisis but knowing me I would call it "chasing my dreams"
    Guys,

I have a question for you and maybe because I am on the wrong side of 40 which means I have the patience of a 60 and the exhuberance of someone who is 20. What has been your experience of riding the Ninjette and the scenarios that you would normally see around you when you ride? I will share my experience first.

    My experience

    1) Cops stopping you just for the heck of it and asking "How much did you pay for it?" + "headlights are on"
    2) A million people gesturing "press me" but what they mean innocently is "your headlights are on"
    3) People take notice of you but think "hey my bike no less than yours" - who is comparing buddy?
    4) Have had guys revving it up standing next to you on a traffic light indicating that "mine's faster than yours' - so be it, who is racing....
    5) Cars allowing you to move ahead and not trying to race (for a change). BTW I vociferously curse bikers when I am in my car.
    6) There were times when I overtook slow moving bikers (some with pillion riders belonging to the fairer sex) and the minute I did so, I could see a streak of lightning trying to pass me. Had to slow down so they dont risk their life.
    7) Wherever I couldnt keep my patience, did the 0-100 ASAP (despite the break-in period) so as to teach lessons but felt sorry after that. Sorry, only for loosing my composure. People learn lessons the hard way
    8) This is the best part........ whenever a comrade (Ninja owner) crosses / passes by, the familiar right hand saying "Hi" or a "Thumbs Up" sign is so so reassuring

So guys, what has been your experience on the roads so far?

          Hey Everyone.
Im planning to buy a ninja 300. Completely done and frustated waiting for duke 390. Just realised 390 is not my cup of tea. I am planning to finance half the amount. I some how feel bajaj in house finance scheme is very deceptive and ambigous. Should I go for loan from a nationalised bank or bargain with bajaj finance ? Inputs n suggestions are welcome.

Shit! Hope you didn't suffer any injuries.
As for the parts it depends on where you stay and if the part is available at your local SVC. I stay in Mumbai and suffered from a jammed radiator fan. I was told that if the part is available in Pune then I'll get my bike back in 7 days else it would have to be imported which meant a waiting period of 22 days. I'm not sure of the cost though.

Sorry to hear that. I sincerely hope you walked away safe without a scratch. Parts are not available off the shelf... it is most likely that the part will need to be ordered from Pune and will take a minimum of 7 days to reach your service center.

I booked a ninja 300 today. Bike delivery is expected in a weeks time. Did anybody go for a zero dep policy? Showroom guys are quoting Rs 5000 over regular comprehensive insurance. A figure of 11, 000

zero dep policy seems to be a sensible choice. I have 2 options bajaj allianz zero dep policy bought straight the showroom at 11k. Advantage : cash less claim process
icici lombard at 9.5k bought from outside but no cash less facility in claims.

has anyone got frame sliders on your Ninja 300? Will the R&G sliders for the older 250 fit for the 300 as well?
