Went to take some spare parts for the KTM DUKE 200. While my friend was busy buying the spare parts , i went to the NINJA 300 which was looking gorgeous in green. Enquired about the price which seems to be reduced to 3,82,300 on road. So thought to share it here. Its an offer which is valid till March end

This weekend's addition to the Ninja was a bit of farkle. Rizoma Garffio LED Indicator lights not only look stunning, but also provide clear and intense light for turn indication. The indicators comprise of housing made of aluminium with clear lens and SMD based LED. Made in Italy, each indicator comes in individual box with a sponge cut out packing and is accompanied with 2 sets of resistors and a instruction manual.

The installation of these indicators is not blot on. It required making of mounting plates. As I wanted to use the stock connectors and did not want any cutting and splicing of the wiring, fresh connectors were sourced, the wires were soldered and the assembly was shrink warped with PVC sleeves. Thanks to Vikram of Motozone, Pune, for taking the effort and time to do the job exactly as I required it to be done. It is in no small part due to Vikram's efforts that the whole experience was so painless.

Hello Guys!!! I have a query regarding availability of spares for Suzuki bikes, especially in Mumbai. I am on the verge of booking either a Ninja 300 or Suzuki Inazuma. I took a test ride of both, and I liked Inazuma more due to its seating, smooth unit and overall top notch quality.

However, I have heard that "availability of spares" for suzuki bikes is an issue. I am concerned about spares that are needed for regular service.

Also, how is the quality of Service?

With Ninja I am aware of Service standards. If there are issues with Suzuki service or spare availability, I will go ahead with Ninja.

AFAIK , Suzuki is the worst when it comes to spares for two wheelers in India. They don't stock up even for models which have been on their sales charts for years! You're better of with the Ninja dude. Wouldn't even care to comment on their service quality.

                          • Ninja 300 Rattling (engine) noise

Rattling (engine) noise from Ninja 300:

I was on 5th gear at about 100 kmph , was about to shift to 6th, the RPM dropped rapidly , and there was no effect upon giving the motorcycle more gas. Engine stalled with loud rattling noise and shut off. I had to crank it 4 or 5 times to start it again. Eventually it started but there was rattling noise coming continuously - especially from the bottom right side circular housing - which I think is the clutch cover. If I revved the engine beyond 4000 RPM , engine used to shut off. But the bike was rideable on 2nd gear - so had to slowly come back to the service station which is about 18 kms (12 miles) on 2nd gear at 30 kmph - had to maintain the engine RPM below 3500 RPM. Have no clue why.

Also , upon the initial inspection , the service engineer drained the engine oil completely - and I was shocked to see only 10% of engine oil remaining. The previous service was done about 5000 KMS (3125 miles) back and engine oil was completely replaced. There was no sign of leakage anywhere or no sign of under belly damage. Service engineer told me that the oil got burnt off. Anyone has any idea how this could have happened ? FYI - engine is still under warranty. Today (after 4 days of the incident, motorcycle still at the service station) got another update from the service engineer - he told me that it could be due to faulty engine gasket which caused the engine oil to leak - and it burnt off while the engine kept running.
I hope nothing serious has happened to the engine. Audio (+Video) of the rattling noise:

From your description it seems you have suffered a partial seizure of the engine. One thing that is a bit puzzling is that the low oil pressure light did not come on.

It is a known phenomena that some Nikasil coatings consume oil initially before settling down. This normally happens during the first 10,000 kms.

Irrespective of whether oil is getting consumed or not, it is always best to check the oil and coolant levels every morning before riding off.
