  • Front tyre noise

    Hello riders,

My Trigger, almost 2 years old is getting a squeaky noise from the front wheel. SVC reported it to come from the rust and friction between wheel and disc. They tried to rectify the noise, but it started again 30 minutes after getting out from SVC.

Is this normal? Are rusts normal? I didnt use my bike for 3 months in 2014 (been using everyday since then). The bike is wiped with wet cloth everyday (but not the wheels) and is parked outside in open space.

If there is rust, the oxidization causes loss of metallic surface. Does this pose accident risk in future?

Thanks in advance for the free advise

Get a can of WD40 and spray on the rusted areas to loosen the rust. Then use wire scrubber to remove the rusts.

Excellent efficiency figures which oil do you use ? I used SOME ELF GOLD 20W40 but not a good choice in winter and efficiency between 45 to 50

Using TVS full synthetic 10W30 oil, Lubricating the chain with a thick oil (120W)in every 500 kms.

Even I am facing same squeaking noise problem but slow speeds say around 10kmph.
Will try WD-40 for sure and see if it works.
But I doubt if its on outside, I think its axle on which front wheel rotates, maybe there is some dust or rust on it.
And I am getting really good mileage just tweaked bit of setting of carb.
Will update soon about mileage when my tanks empty or atleast in reserve.

                    hello friends.

I have been tracking fuel efficiency of my bike and now I can say that the bike is giving decent mileage of 58 kmpl at an average speed of 55 kmph in city. (and still goin)
Got this much fuel efficiency not because I drive slow (most of time in range of 55-65) but because I prefered to be on move rather getting stuck in traffic jam (now a chronic problem in Delhi)

My advice - use maps to plan your ride to keep a tab on traffic and go for fastest route that has less/no jams or red lights.

Keep moving rather than get stuck in jams. (SAVE FUEL, SAVE BATTERY, SAVE TIME AND SAVE MONEY)

See if there is any improvement in mileage.

                    Will upload piks soon.

Recently Cleaned oil filter at 35000 kms, lot of dirty particles found in oil filter. Owners manual says about cleaning of oil filter at 10000 kms, but svc shouldn't do it. Chain and sprocket is also the stock one, hope it can run up to 40000 kms.
                      Hi,

I get similar FE figures from my 1.5 years old Trigger too. Odo reads 21k+ kms.

I've had no problems with it till date.
I've serviced and replaced engine oil, air filter and spark plug at the recommended intervals.

One thing I'd like to know is the position/location of the oil filter.
I've tried to locate it without any success.

It'd be helpful if u could let me know or show the location of the oil filter as I'm looking to clean/replace it during the next service

                      Thanks

Oil filter is located at inside of the engine and need to remove clutch side cover . It is a metal wire type filter and only need proper cleaning.

Usually at 1000kms, I have almost all spanners and other tools for Firstaid😂.
So I check the chain during lubrication and adjust it if needed. Most important thing is lubrication, it not only reduce the wear but also increase the period between chain adjustment.
One more important thing is, do not overtight the chain, it will affect the performance of rear shock absorber.

Thanks for reply. I lubricate my chain with SAE 90 gear every 300 km or 2 week.i should reduce lubing interval .

And the title be more clearer, maybe:
