Done. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Though i doubt if activity on this particular thread will increase greatly, considering the Trigger barely sold
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Even though I hope for you to be proved wrong, I have to agree it wouldn't affect the activity much on this thread :P

Thank you

Cheers

Hi,

I'm looking to change (or add another) :
1. Horn
2. Headlight

I just wanted to check if there is already anybody here in this thread who's felt the need for such modifications and has a successful path to share with us.

hi,

its anand from chennai,

My trigger crossed 35K and my trigger is facing some problems from last week.

Problem 1 - Black smoke from exhaust while rising over 4K rpm

Problem 2 - sound from gearbox while we slowing down the bike. sounds like gear slipping.. tak tak tak....

i want to know the reasons and to know how to fix this.

Checking with the local mechanic, he said need to change the bore and clutch set... may cost around 6-7K.

***using Shell advanced ultra engine oil

can anyone please tell me what to do, any suggestions?

Black smoke doesn't mean bore change. Most probably your bike is running rich. Open the spark plug and post a picture of the tip. If it's sooty and black then it is running rich.

About the sound, check the chain, maybe it's loose and hitting the cover. Or maybe clutch plates need replacement.

As Shashank K R has said, check or replace the spark plug (and carb & air filter too if it has been long since you checked them)
Rebore at 35k generally sounds a little too early.

And for the noise, check or replace the clutch plates.
Not sure whether or not the sprocket(s) would be the reason.

Hope the mechanic is a good one.

I get the sound "tak tak tak" too, but it has been there since day 1 after purchase. It usually happens when I go one gear down, but continue holding the clutch fully (kinda freewheel when on downhill). Never experienced this with other bikes.

Have you tried to understand the reason and solution for it?

Does it happen only when you're doing very high speeds for that particular gear that you're downshifting to? For ex: Doing around 30kmph and downshifting to 1st ?

I've experienced this when the engine isn't running while on downhill. I tried to shift from N to 2nd

How did you manage to control crosswind wobbling in highways.....? does up-sizing my bike's tyres makes any difference?

That is a difficult thing to avoid anishkrissh. Thing is that the bike is quite light and tyres are skinny, which makes it wobble in crosswinds. Same thing happens in Unicorn 160. You can try crouching down to see if it helps.

Maybe a softer compound rear tyre can help. Eg. Zapper Vyde 120/80. I enquired about the tyre fitting and he agreed to fit it to my bike to show that it fits. There was little clearance between the tyre and chain cover (maybe 1cm or less).

• Should I change engine oil from mineral to synthetic?

Hi Guys,
I have HONDA CB TRIGGER clocked over 20k (mostly in hilly regions), I have 5year extended warranty on my motorcycle on which 3 past 2 left.

I heard that synthetic engine oils like "Motul 104091 7100 4T Synthetic 10W-40" are much better than the honda mineral oils. I want to change my engine oil to this one but changing engine oil may void my motorcycle warranty.

This thought to change the engine oil comes to my mind when last time I serviced my motorcycle I didn't find it as much refined as it was used to and recently I heard that the additive (bardahl) they are using with oil are not recommended by the honda.

Now the big question in my mind is "Is changing oil to fully synthetic worth sacrificing the 2yr warranty?"

I need your kind suggestions on this.

Thanks
diggi

If you don't tell the service centre, warranty won't be void.

Don't they check the service record and confirm whether Honda engine oil used or not?

I don't think sizing up your tyres make any difference. Crosswinds is entirely different context.

Upsizing may help a little to prevent too much swaying.

About the oil, why don't you buy it and change it yourself or get a mechanic to change the oil? Don't tell the SVC, that's it.
